Key Responsibilities

• Support manager in developing fully capable, highly proficient structural engineers in CSE Support ensuring the successful execution of projects using Engineering Standard Work (ESW).
• Perform state-of-the-art ANSYS Finite Element Analysis for stress, vibration, determination of low cycle fatigue life and residual life (fracture mechanics) prediction.
• Ability to write clear substantiation documentation, as well as to create and provide impactful, persuasive technical presentations to internal and external customers.
• Drive execution efficiency on project commitments with high technical quality.
• Support planning and manage the technical tasks and milestones, resources, employee development.
• Provide classroom and on the job training on structural methods, tools and processes.
• Coach and mentor young structural engineers and interns.
• Collaborate with project, discipline stakeholders to resolve key structural problems.
• Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy.
• Develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and as a team contributor.
• Contribute to PW IEC and Global structural engineering discipline forums.

Basic Qualifications

BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 13+ years prior relevant engineering experience OR Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 11+ years prior relevant engineering experience Excellent structural analysis experience on compressor hardware, especially Rotors, casings and kinematics Strong technical skills in structural engineering tools & methods Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and critical thinking skills Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components Results focus and the ability to drive tasks to completion through disciplined execution
