Job summary

Applicantz, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer in Bengaluru to design, develop, and scale robust backend services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS cloud technologies.

The role emphasizes ownership of architecture, performance, observability, security, and cloud-native practices. The candidate should have 7–9 years of software experience with at least 5 years in backend development, plus strong RESTful API and distributed system design.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build reliable, secure, and highly available microservice-based distributed applications.
• Design efficient data models and access patterns using DynamoDB.
• Build cloud-native and event-driven solutions with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, S3, SQS, API Gateway, CloudWatch).
• Develop asynchronous processing workflows, background jobs, and messaging architectures.
• Define service boundaries, API contracts, data flows, and backend architecture.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance, reliability, and security.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Monitor production apps with logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with product, QA, architects, and globally distributed teams.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and own features end-to-end.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, distributed systems, microservices, and AWS cloud technologies.

The role will focus on designing, developing, scaling, and supporting highly available backend services and APIs for customer-facing applications. The ideal candidate will have strong ownership of backend architecture, application performance, production reliability, security, observability, and cloud-native engineering practices.

Experience with React and/or Java/Spring Boot is a plus but not mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications
