Job summary

Egis in Bengaluru invites an experienced Civil Engineer to lead highway design projects in the ME region. You will apply Civil 3D and BIM workflows, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and deliver designs that meet international standards.

The role focuses on highways/expressways, intersections and interchanges, with QA/QC oversight. Ideal candidates have 10–12 years in highway design, strong communication, and proficiency in CDE environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 10–12 years of Highway Design experience.
• Proven design experience for highway/expressway projects in ME/USA/UK regions.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, MX Road, InfraWorks, BIM and related tools.
• Experience in CDE environments (ACC, ProjectWise) is an advantage.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise for multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in ME region.
• Lead client management, design reviews and progress meetings.
• Design highways/intersections/interchanges and model using Civil 3D with BIM integration.
• Coordinate with drainage, hydrology, lighting and structures interfaces.
• Prepare design reports, drawings and specifications with QA/QC adherence.
• Mentor junior engineers and support BOQ quantity take-off.

Job description

• Provision of engineering expertise involving a range of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects of varying scale, complexity and value preferably in the Middle East (ME) region.
• Client management, lead and attend design review and progress meetings.
• Demonstrated experience in the design of various categories of projects ranging from highways/expressways to major urban corridors and shared pathways. Design of Intersections and Interchanges.
• Strong knowledge and experience of highway design and modelling using ideally Civil 3D software together with integration into BIM.
• Good knowledge of interface disciplines such as drainage, hydrology, lighting, structures. Ability to communicate and integrate with the relevant designers to find holistic solutions.
• Application of Highway designs guidelines of ME, AASHTO, DMRB and contribute to the development of internal standards.
• Developing and delivering design solutions including applications for Departures and Relaxations from Standards, etc, and ensuring all requisite approvals and consents are secured for projects.
• Proficiency in preparation of comprehensive design reports, drawings, and specifications. Collaborate with drafting and documentation teams to create accurate and detailed technical documentation.
• Responsible for technical checking and design reviews complying to QA/QC procedures.
• Mentoring/Guiding of junior Engineers.
• Extraction of quantity take-off from the software and support to BOQ.
• Should work closely with project managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of designs within larger project scopes. Provide technical support during construction and address any design-related challenges that may arise.
