Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership in clean water network modelling across UK water utility projects.
  • Lead development, calibration, and validation of hydraulic models for large‑scale clean water distribution networks.
  • Deliver modelling studies aligned with AMP programmes and regulatory performance requirements.
  • Undertake and review:
    • Demand forecasting and distribution input analysis
    • Network capacity assessments and hydraulic performance evaluations
    • Pressure management and operational optimisation studies
    • Leakage analysis and reduction strategies
    • Network resilience and outage scenario analysis
  • Lead optioneering and system optimisation, including network reinforcement, rezoning, and operational improvements.
  • Support development of:
    • WRMP inputs
    • Investment planning and business cases (e.g., PR submissions)
  • Prepare and review technical reports, modelling documentation, and analysis outputs in line with UK water industry standards.
  • Ensure modelling outputs align with regulatory frameworks (OFWAT, DWI, Environment Agency).
  • Establish and enforce modelling standards, QA/QC processes, and best practices.
  • Perform technical assurance reviews of models, data inputs, assumptions, and outputs.
  • Engage with UK water company clients, supporting model reviews, technical workshops, and decision-making discussions.
  • Identify data gaps, uncertainties, and risks; define strategies for improvement and mitigation.
  • Mentor and guide engineers and modellers, supporting capability development within the team.
  • Drive innovation through digital tools, automation, scripting, and data‑driven workflows.
Key Software Tools
  • Primary Modelling Tools: InfoWorks WS Pro, Synergi
  • Additional Tools (Preferred): InfoWater
  • GIS Platforms: ArcGIS Pro, QGIS
  • Data & Analytics: Advanced Excel, Power BI (desirable), Python scripting (desirable)

  • Over 15 years of experience in clean water network modelling and planning, with strong focus on UK water utility projects.
  • Deep expertise in InfoWorks WS Pro and/or Synergi for large‑scale hydraulic modelling.
  • Experience delivering modelling studies aligned with AMP cycles (AMP6/7/8).
  • Strong understanding of:
    • UK water industry standards and modelling practices
    • Regulatory frameworks (OFWAT, DWI, Environment Agency)
    • Asset management and investment planning processes
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Network optimisation and pressure management
    • Leakage analysis and reduction
    • Network resilience and scenario modelling
  • Proven capability in technical leadership, QA/QC, and mentoring modelling teams.
  • Experience in client engagement, technical reviews, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Experience in data analysis, interpretation, and model‑driven decision support.
  • Familiarity with digital delivery, automation, and advanced analytics is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Master’s degree in Water Resources / Environmental Engineering (or relevant field).
Preferred Attributes
  • CIWEM Accreditation.
  • Experience working within UK frameworks or with water utility clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for client‑facing responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within global delivery teams supporting UK clients.
Relocation

We welcome applications from qualified professionals currently based overseas who are open to relocating to India. Relocation support may be provided for exceptional candidates having extensive experience delivering Design Build water infrastructure projects.

Hybrid Work Expectation

Average office presence of 3 days per week or as per Company Policy, with travel for client/site meetings and occasional team meetings.
