Job summary

KBR, Inc. in Chennai searches for a Principal Layout Designer with extensive piping layout experience. You will lead piping design tasks on onshore projects, ensuring design integrity while managing project execution.

Eligible candidates have 15–20 years of relevant experience, hold a mechanical or chemical diploma, and will guide junior designers, perform layout studies, and coordinate with vendors. This role is based in Chennai with on-site work expectations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical is required.
• Proficient in S3D, AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Strong knowledge of layout concepts and piping support modelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop unit plot plans/equipment layouts.
• Layout optimisation study.
• Preparation of MTO.

Principal Designer - Piping Layout

KBR is looking for Principal Layout Designer who possess experience in working within the piping design team on onshore projects and ensuring piping design integrity is not compromised while managing the execution of the project.

Responsibilities:

• Develop unit plot plans/equipment layouts
• Layout optimisation study
• Preparation of MTO
• Review of Vendor package

Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Candidate should be a Diploma in Mechanical / Chemical
• Excellent knowledge in S3D, MS Office, AutoCAD & MicroStation.
• Good knowledge in mechanical handling concepts
• Good Knowledge of support selection and modelling. Special support drawing creation is preferable
• Good knowledge in ISO checking and back drafting and support ISO team on project needs
• Excellent skill to guide young designers
• Good knowledge in conceptual layout study
• Good Communication skills
• 15 - 20 years of experience in above skills & responsibilities
• Knowledge in PML macros development will be considered an added advantage.
