Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare piping layouts, isometrics, GA drawings, and support details based on project requirements.
• Review P&IDs, engineering inputs, and specifications to develop accurate piping designs.
• Conduct clash checks and coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams.
• Ensure compliance with project standards and industry codes.
• Assist in material take-offs and prepare input for procurement.
• Provide design support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages.

Job Title : Piping Designer

Roles & Responsibilities

• 1. Prepare piping layouts, isometrics, GA drawings, and support details based on project requirements.
• 2. Review P&IDs, engineering inputs, and specifications to develop accurate piping designs.
• 3. Conduct clash checks and coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams.
• 4. Ensure compliance with project standards, classification society rules, and industry codes (ASME, ASTM, API, JIS, DIN).
• 5. Assist in material take-offs (MTO), BOQs, and prepare input for procurement.
• 6. Provide design support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages.
• 7. Revise and update drawings as per engineering changes and client feedback.
• 8. Maintain proper documentation and drawing control in line with QA/QC requirements.
• 9. Participate in design review meetings with clients and internal teams.
• 10. Support site teams and offshore/onshore installation activities with 3D model‑based information, if required.
• 11. Support piping engineers by translating design concepts/calculations into accurate models and drawings.
• 12. Participate in 3D model reviews, implement updates, and resolve design issues.
• 13. Ensure database and drawing revision control is maintained throughout the project.

Desired Qualification & Experience

• 1. Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Marine / Offshore / Piping Engineering or equivalent
• 2. 1 to 3 years of experience in:
  • 3D piping Design/Modeling for marine, offshore, or oil & gas sectors
  • Exposure to piping systems for vessels or platforms.

Desired Skills

• Proficiency in 2D & 3D design software (AutoCAD, Cadmatic, Plant 3D, other Piping design tools).
• Strong knowledge of piping components, materials, and fabrication standards.
• Knowledge of marine piping systems, components, fabrication standards, and material specifications.
• Ability to generate and review P&ID GA drawings, isometrics, MTOs, and support drawings from 3D models.
• Spec creation and database management.
• Familiarity with piping stress analysis tools (e.g., CAESAR II) is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting project deadlines.
