Job summary

Sancta Maria Aerocity seeks an experienced Primary Years ICT (Information Communication and Technology) Teacher to integrate digital literacy and computational thinking across the primary curriculum. The Primary Years ICT (Information Communication and Technology) Teacher will play a pivotal role in integrating digital literacy, computational thinking, and technology skills across the primary curriculum. You will design and lead concept-driven, inquiry-rich learning experiences that empower learners to become responsible digital citizens and creative problem solvers.

The role is appropriate for an educator who combines inquiry-based pedagogical practice with expertise in educational technology, reflective practice, and strong collaborative relationships with colleagues, learners, and families.

Learning and Classroom Practice

You will:

• Design and deliver engaging ICT learning experiences that develop computational thinking, coding basics, digital creation, and media literacy appropriate for primary learners.
• Collaborate with Homeroom Teachers to integrate technology authentically into Units of Inquiry, ensuring transdisciplinary connections rather than isolated skill instruction.
• Foster digital citizenship, teaching safe, ethical, and responsible use of technology and online resources.
• Differentiate learning thoughtfully to accommodate diverse skill levels and learning needs across the primary age groups.
• Guide learners in using digital tools to document, reflect upon, and present their own learning journey (e.g., e-portfolios).

You will:

• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment within the tech lab and digital learning spaces.
• Promote healthy digital habits, balance, and online safety principles tailored to primary-aged children.
• Work in partnership with families to promote consistent digital safety practices between school and home.
• Contribute to a school culture where wellbeing, belonging, and happiness are prioritized alongside digital engagement.

Assessment and Learning Progress

You will:

• Use a range of formative and summative assessment strategies to evaluate students' digital competency, problem-solving abilities, and project outcomes.
• Provide timely, actionable feedback that encourages iteration, resilience, and reflective thinking.
• Maintain accurate records of learner progress using the school's reportingsystems.
• Contribute technology-based artifacts and evidence to learner-led conferences and progress reports.

Collaboration and Professional Learning

You will:

• Co-plan and co-teach alongside Homeroom and Specialist teachers to build digital capacity across the primary team.
• Manage and support the integration of educational software, devices, and learning tools used in the primary school.
• Engage actively in professional learning, staying updated with emerging trends in educational technology and inquiry-based learning.
• Contribute actively to the wider life of the school, including tech initiatives, robotics/coding clubs, and school-wide events.

Qualifications & Experience

Strongly Preferred

• Bachelor’s or Post-Graduate degree in Computer Science, Educational Technology, Information Technology, or Education with a recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed. / PGCE / equivalent).
• Minimum 1–2 years of ICT/EdTech teaching experience in the primary years in an authorized IB school or international school setting.
• Strong understanding of inquiry-led, concept-driven teaching practices and transdisciplinary technology integration.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Completion of IB Category 1 or 2 workshop (specifically in PYP technology integration or curriculum design).
• Experience with primary-focused coding tools, robotics (e.g., Scratch, Bee-Bot, LEGO Education), e-portfolios, and creative media platforms.
• Experience in an emerging or growing school environment.
• Experience in collaborating closely with learning support or specialist teachers to support diverse learners.
