Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids is seeking professionals to support project engineering activities across electrical, mechanical, civil and structural disciplines in Chennai. The role involves reviewing tender specifications, modelling in 3D with BIM360 interfaces, and preparing grounding, lightning protection, and civil input layouts.

You will also handle detailed steel drawings for manufacturing and installation, procure steel and switchyard components, and coordinate resources to ensure safety, scope

Responsibilities

• Review of Tender / Bidding Specification
• Plant Modelling in 3D Environment with interface with ACC / BIM360
• Preparation, Review of FACTS Layout (Yard Arrangement, Buildings, Grounding, Lightning Protection)
• Preparation and Review of Civil Input Information (Foundation, Conduit, Trench, and other Civil Requirements)
• Calculations and Layouts for Grounding, Lightning, Busbar system data, Ampacity, cantilever & Magnetic Field Calculations
• Preparation and Review of Detailed Steel Drawings (For Manufacturing / Procurement & Installation)
• Purchasing Steel, Al, Connectors, Switchyard Equipment
• Coordinate Project Engineering on a range of engineering disciplines e.g. electrical, mechanical, civil, structural engineering.
• Project engineering activities such as planning, risk assessments; coordination of resources (personnel and equipment)
• Ensuring adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks.
• Creating work plans and cost estimates; scope, budget and schedule for assignments.
• Interact directly with customers, project management, contractors and supply chain.
