Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Chennai is seeking an experienced project engineer to support tender reviews, 3D plant modelling, grounding and electrical layout calculations, and steel drawings for manufacturing, procurement and installation.

You will coordinate across electrical, mechanical, civil and structural disciplines, plan resources, assess risks, ensure safety standards, and interact with customers, management, contractors and supply chain to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Review of Tender / Bidding Specification
• Plant Modelling in 3D Environment with interface with ACC / BIM360
• Preparation, Review of FACTS Layout (Yard Arrangement, Buildings, Grounding, Lightning Protection)
• Preparation and Review of Civil Input Information (Foundation, Conduit, Trench, and other Civil Requirements)
• Calculations and Layouts for Grounding, Lightning, Busbar system data, Ampacity, cantilever & Magnetic Field Calculations
• Preparation and Review of Detailed Steel Drawings (For Manufacturing / Procurement & Installation)
• Purchasing Steel, Al, Connectors, Switchyard Equipment
• Coordinate Project Engineering on a range of engineering disciplines e.g. electrical, mechanical, civil, structural engineering
• Project engineering activities such as planning, risk assessments; coordination of resources (personnel and equipment)
• Ensuring adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks
• Creating work plans and cost estimates; scope, budget and schedule for assignments
• Interact directly with customers, project management, contractors and supply chain
