Job description

We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and dynamic NEW Pre-School Principal to lead the academic and operational development of a new/expanding pre-school in Palava.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in early childhood education, curriculum development, teacher training, school leadership, and parent/partner engagement. Beyond managing the day-to-day academic operations, the candidate will play a key role in developing the school's educational approach, building partnerships, training educators, and contributing to the long-term growth of the centre.

We are particularly interested in someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who is open to exploring a partnership opportunity and taking ownership of the school's growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic & School Leadership

• Lead the overall academic and educational direction of the pre-school.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate, play-based and child-centred learning programmes.
• Establish academic standards, teaching methodologies and classroom practices.
• Monitor children's learning, development and overall wellbeing.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Develop and implement school policies, procedures and academic standards.

2. Curriculum Development

• Design, develop and continuously improve the pre-school curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans, learning resources, activity frameworks and assessment approaches.
• Ensure the curriculum supports children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical and language development.
• Introduce innovative teaching methodologies and experiential learning activities.
• Regularly review the curriculum based on children's needs, feedback and emerging early-years education practices.

3. Teacher Training & Development

• Recruit, mentor and develop teachers and support staff.
• Conduct regular teacher training, workshops and classroom observations.
• Develop training programmes focused on early childhood education, classroom management and teaching methodologies.
• Provide constructive feedback and coaching to teachers.
• Build a culture of continuous professional development.

4. Partnership & Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with education partners, curriculum providers, vendors and other external stakeholders.
• Identify and develop strategic academic and business partnerships.
• Represent the school professionally in meetings with partners and prospective stakeholders.
• Explore collaborations that enhance the school's academic offering and growth.

5. Parent Engagement

• Build strong relationships with parents and families.
• Conduct parent meetings, orientations and educational workshops.
• Address parent concerns professionally and ensure a high level of parent satisfaction.
• Communicate children's development and progress effectively.

6. School Growth & Business Development

• Work closely with management to develop and execute the school's growth strategy.
• Support enrolment, marketing and community engagement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to expand programmes, services and partnerships.
• Contribute ideas for new revenue streams and educational offerings.
• Take ownership of the centre's academic quality and overall development.

7. Partnership / Entrepreneurial Opportunity

• The successful candidate may be considered for a long-term partnership opportunity, subject to mutual suitability and agreement.
• The candidate should be willing to contribute not only as an academic leader but also as a strategic partner in developing and growing the pre-school.
