Presales Engineer Intern - ELV, Physical Security Networking

Position: Presales Engineer Intern

About the Role

We are looking for a Presales Engineer Intern who is interested in ELV (Extra-Low Voltage), Physical Security, Networking, and Technology Solutions.

The intern will work closely with the Presales, Sales, and Technical teams to understand customer requirements, research technical solutions, prepare solution documentation, and support the development of technical proposals.

This role is ideal for candidates from Electronics, Electrical, Networking, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related technical backgrounds who are interested in building a career in technical presales and solution engineering.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Research Solution Support

• Assist the presales team in understanding customer technical requirements.
• Research CCTV, access control, fire alarm, networking, and other ELV solutions.
• Support the team in identifying suitable products and technologies based on project requirements.
• Assist in preparing basic technical solution concepts and system configurations.
• Learn and understand how ELV and physical security systems integrate with network infrastructure.

2. Technical Documentation Proposals

• Assist in preparing technical proposals, BOQs, product comparisons, and solution documents.
• Support the preparation of network and system architecture diagrams.
• Maintain technical product information, specifications, and solution documentation.
• Assist in preparing presentations and other documents for customer discussions.

3. Networking Technical Learning

• Develop practical understanding of basic networking concepts such as:
  • LAN/WAN
  • IP addressing
  • Switches and routers
  • Network topology
  • TCP/IP basics
  • Basic network troubleshooting
• Gain exposure to L1/L2 networking concepts and CCNA-level fundamentals.
• Understand how networking is used in CCTV, access control, and other security systems.

4. Client Team Support

• Assist senior presales engineers during client meetings, technical discussions, and product demonstrations.
• Understand customer requirements and document key technical points.
• Coordinate with sales and technical teams to gather information required for proposals.
• Support Proof of Concept (POC), pilot, and solution validation activities when required.

5. Industry Technology Research

• Research emerging technologies in ELV, physical security, networking, IoT, and smart infrastructure.
• Compare different products and solutions available in the market.
• Prepare brief technical summaries and recommendations for the presales team.
• Continuously develop knowledge of security and networking technologies.

Qualifications Skills

Educational Background

• Bachelors/Diploma degree in:
  • Electronics Communication Engineering
  • Electrical Electronics Engineering
  • Computer Science / IT
  • Telecommunication
  • Networking
  • Mechatronics or related technical fields.

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of CCTV and surveillance systems.
• Basic knowledge of access control and biometric systems.
• Basic understanding of fire alarm / ELV systems is an advantage.
• Familiarity with basic networking concepts such as IP addresses, switches, routers, LAN/WAN, and network topology.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio, Draw.io, or similar diagramming tools is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of CCNA concepts is preferred.
• Strong interest in learning ELV, physical security, networking, and solution design.
