• ERP/SAP based production planning and monitoring is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly, weekly and daily production plans aligned with targets and plant capacity.
• Develop short- to medium-term production schedules with Production and Operations teams.
• Monitor actual production against plan and address deviations and bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance and Production to resolve bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate with Raw Material, Purchase and Stores to ensure material availability and consumption planning.

Job Summary :

To develop, implement, monitor and control production plans for the Pellet plant, in line with approved production targets, customer requirements, equipment capacity, raw material availability and dispatch schedules. The position is responsible for ensuring optimum utilization of production capacity, effective coordination across manufacturing departments, minimum production losses, timely order execution, inventory control and accurate production reporting.

Role & responsibilities

A. Production Planning and Scheduling

1. Prepare monthly, weekly and daily production plans based on approved production targets, customer orders and plant capacity.

2. Develop short-term and medium-term production schedules in coordination with the Production and Operations teams.

3. Monitor actual production against planned targets and identify deviations, bottlenecks and corrective actions.

4. Revise production schedules in response to breakdowns, material shortages, quality issues, urgent customer requirements and operational constraints.

B. Production Monitoring and Control

1. Monitor daily production performance against approved targets for each production unit. Collect and consolidate shift-wise production data from the respective departments.

2. Analyse production losses arising from equipment breakdowns, process instability, raw material shortages, power interruptions and other operational constraints.

3. Coordinate with Production, Maintenance and Quality teams to resolve production bottlenecks. Track plant capacity utilization, production efficiency, yield, rejection rates and operational downtime.

C. Raw Material and Inventory Planning

1. Coordinate with Raw Material Handling, Purchase, Stores and Production departments to ensure the availability of required materials.

2. Prepare raw material consumption plans based on production schedules, approved consumption norms and product mix.

3. Monitor the availability of iron ore, pellets, coal, coke, scrap, ferroalloys, refractories, electrodes, fluxes and other consumables, as applicable to the plant configuration.

4. Monitor actual consumption against standard consumption norms and investigate abnormal variations. Track raw material stock levels, work-in-progress and finished goods inventory in coordination with the respective departments.

5.Support inventory optimization by identifying excess, slow-moving and critical materials.

D. Capacity Planning and Resource Optimization

1. Assess production capacity based on equipment capability, cycle time, operating hours, maintenance requirements and product mix.

2. Identify capacity constraints and recommend measures to improve throughput and production efficiency.

3. Analyse bottlenecks across production stages and facilitate capacity-balancing initiatives. Support manpower and shift planning in coordination with Production and HR.

E. Quality and Process Coordination

1. Coordinate with Quality Control and Production teams to align production schedules with product specifications and quality requirements. Monitor rejection, rework and yield-loss trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

2. Ensure production plans consider grade changes, product specifications, process limitations and quality clearance requirements.

3. Facilitate timely communication of quality-related restrictions that may affect production schedules or dispatch commitments.

Preferred candidate profile

Approximately 10-15 years of relevant experience in production planning, production control, manufacturing operations or industrial scheduling.

• At least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role, depending on the complexity of the plant.
• Experience in Pellet/ steel manufacturing, iron and steel production, heavy engineering manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in production planning, capacity utilization, material coordination, production reporting and cross-functional operational management.
• Practical experience in ERP/SAP based production planning and performance monitoring is desirable.
• Age will be below 40 Years & Team size will be at least 8 members
