Job summary

Nordex SE in India seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design of wind turbine power converters, from concept through end-of-service life.

You will define concepts and detailed specifications, create converter sub-assemblies, validate results on benches, maintain manuals and BOMs in the PLM system, and support supplier interactions. MATLAB/Simulink expertise is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the Wind Turbine and Power Converter Sectors.
• Proven ability to work across the full development lifecycle with cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of electrical power conversion and system simulations.

Responsibilities

• Define concept and detailed specifications of the Power Converter of the Nordex WTGs.
• Create converter sub-assemblies design and tests specifications; collaborate with manufacturers.
• Define system test specs and validate results on stand-alone and generator benches.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and BOM in the PLM system.
• Provide support to WTG certification with required technical docs.
• Perform/develop MATLAB-based simulations for hardware components design.

Job description

As a member of the Converter Hardware Development Team, you will contribute to the design of one of the most relevant and complete parts of the Nordex wind turbines, being involved in the complete lifecycle of the component from concept design to the end of service life and covering all the design aspects of such an important component like steady-state and transient performance.

• Define concept and detailed specifications of the Power Converter of the Nordex WTGs based on the Power Electric system specifications.
• Create converter sub-assemblies design and tests specifications and collaborate with the manufacturers in the validation of the converter parts.
• Define converter system test specifications and validate results in stand-alone and generator-connected test benches.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for main converter such as manuals, instructions, protocols and reports.
• Create the converter design solution structure, upload and maintain the Bill of Materials and related information into the Nordex PLM system.
• Provide technical support to the WTG certification by preparing whatever technical documentation required by the certification body.
• Support sourcing department in the commercial discussions with converter and component suppliers.
• Perform simulations using simulation tools for hardware components design (Matlab based).
• Develop/improve simulation tools for hardware components design (Matlab based).

Your Profile:

• BE/Btech or ME/Mtech in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the Wind Turbine and Power Converter Sectors.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink
