Job summary

Muthoot Finance in Asansol seeks a Portfolio Manager – Collections to lead and improve the performance of an assigned loan portfolio. You will monitor delinquency, drive timely collections, and oversee field collection activities in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with Branch Managers and regional teams to achieve portfolio-quality objectives, manage slippages, and coordinate recovery efforts while ensuring a disciplined approach to credit risk

Experience: 1–8 years in Collections, Retail Lending, NBFC, Banking, or Financial Services

Role Purpose

The Portfolio Manager – Collections will be responsible for managing and improving the collection performance of an assigned loan portfolio. The role involves monitoring delinquency and overdue accounts, driving timely collections, managing field collection activities, controlling portfolio slippages, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

The position will work closely with Branch Managers, Collection Officers, Area/Regional teams, and other stakeholders to achieve collection and portfolio-quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio Management

Manage the assigned loan portfolio and monitor collection performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Track overdue, delinquent, and high-risk accounts and ensure timely resolution.

Analyze portfolio trends, bucket movement, roll rates, collection efficiency, and ageing.

Identify accounts with a high probability of delinquency and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Monitor portfolio quality and minimize fresh slippages and delinquency.

• Collections & Recovery

Drive collection performance against assigned targets and business plans.

Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of overdue accounts through calls, field visits, and other approved collection channels.

Review and monitor collection cases across different delinquency buckets.

Ensure effective follow-up on chronic overdue and high-value accounts.

Coordinate with branch and field teams for resolution of difficult and sensitive cases.

Support recovery initiatives, including repossession/auction processes where applicable and as per company policy.
