Job summary

WOW Softech is seeking a Senior PMO Leader with 25+ years of experience in Project Management, heavy engineering, and capital equipment to lead the PMO framework, SOPs, governance, and lifecycle processes.

You will ensure portfolio visibility across all active projects, drive capacity planning, risk management, and cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, QA, and Site Erection.

Qualifications

• 25+ years of progressive experience in Project Management.
• 5–7 years leading a PMO in Heavy Engineering, Steel Plant Equipment, Capital Goods Manufacturing, or Turnkey EPC.
• Proven track record managing multi-million-dollar capital machinery or plant setup projects from design through site commissioning.

• Standardize PMO tools, metrics, and KPI tracking (EVMS, Schedule Variance, Cost Variance).

• Oversee capacity planning, risk management, and project financial controls.

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

1. Strategic Portfolio Leadership & Governance

• Establish and drive the company-wide PMO framework, standard operating procedures (SOPs), governance models, and project lifecycle management processes.
• Maintain complete portfolio visibility across all active projects, evaluating portfolio health, capacity constraints, and critical paths.
• Standardize PMO tools, methodologies, metrics, and KPI tracking (EVMS, Schedule Variance, Cost Variance, Delivery Baseline Performance).

2. Cross-Functional Operations & Execution Alignment

• Lead and align heads of Engineering, Procurement & Supply Chain, Heavy Fabrication, Quality Assurance, and Site Erection & Commissioning to ensure seamless handoffs and target compliance.
• Drive capacity planning, resource optimization, and plant load balancing to prevent shop-floor bottlenecks.
• Oversee site readiness, installation, and commissioning workflows, resolving systemic field issues swiftly.

3. Commercial, Financial & Risk Management

• Oversee multi-project budget allocation, revenue forecasting, project profitability, and working capital optimization (billing & milestone collection cycles).
• Establish a comprehensive enterprise-level Risk Management Register, implementing early warning systems and proactive mitigation strategies for technical, financial, and supply chain risks.
• Authorize variation orders, change management requests, and contract claims to protect company commercial interests and margin baselines.

4. Senior Stakeholder & Client Relationship Management

• Act as the primary executive point of contact for key client leaders, consultants, and international stakeholders during project execution reviews.
• Present comprehensive portfolio dashboards, strategic risks, and operational performance trends directly to the Board of Directors / Executive Leadership.
• Champion customer satisfaction by ensuring strict compliance with technical specifications, international quality standards, and delivery commitments.

5. Team Leadership & Organizational Transformation

• Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of Project Managers, Planning Engineers, Cost Controllers, and PMO Analysts.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, technical excellence, and modern project management practices.
• Champion digital transformation within the PMO, integrating ERP (SAP/Oracle), Primavera P6/MS Project, and automated analytics dashboards. (To be reviewed by client)

Preferred candidate profile:

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelors Degree (B.E. / B. Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Metallurgy from a reputed institution.
• Master’s Degree / MBA in Operations, General Management, or Project Management (Highly Preferred).
• Certifications: PMP® (Project Management Professional), PgMP®, or PRINCE2® certification is preferred.

Work Experience:

• 25+ years of progressive experience in Project Management, with at least 5–7 years leading a PMO in Heavy Engineering, Steel Plant Equipment, Capital Goods Manufacturing, or Turnkey EPC Execution.
• Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar capital machinery or plant setup projects from design through site commissioning.

Technical & Functional Competencies

• Tools Expertise: Advanced expertise in MS Project, Primavera P6, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), and ERP platforms (SAP/Oracle).
• Domain Knowledge: Deep domain understanding of heavy mechanical fabrication, heavy machining, mechanical alignment, hydraulic/automation integration, and site erection workflows.
• Commercial Acumen: Thorough knowledge of FIDIC/EPC contracts, change management, international logistics, letter of credit (LC) terms, and project financial control.
