Job summary

Cogency Infratech is seeking an Associate Director Capital Projects to lead PMO and drive governance for large-scale capital programs across sectors such as renewables, oil & gas and infrastructure. The role requires steering project controls, schedules, cost management and risk mitigation with senior client exposure.

You will mentor cross-functional teams, coordinate with partners and directors, and promote data-driven decision making using Primavera P6, MS Project and Power BI.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • MBA and PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale capital projects and PMO.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PMO setup, implementation and governance for capital projects.
  • Drive planning, scheduling, cost management and risk tracking.
  • Establish project controls, KPIs and dashboards for reporting.
  • Monitor EPC contractors, consultants and multiple stakeholders.
  • Advise senior client stakeholders on execution strategy and performance.
  • Oversee risk mitigation, schedules, cost overruns and delays.
  • Lead reviews, steering committees and executive reporting.

Experience:

  • 10-15 Years Industry: Capital Projects, EPC, Infrastructure, Energy & Industrial Projects Position Summary As an Associate Director Capital Projects, you will lead and manage PMO and project management consulting engagements for large-scale capital projects across sectors including Renewables, Solar Cell Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Refining, Power, Infrastructure and Industrial Projects.
  • The role involves providing strategic and operational leadership across project planning, project controls, risk management, governance, execution monitoring and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project & PMO Leadership Lead PMO setup, implementation and project governance for large-scale capital projects.
  • Drive planning, scheduling, cost management, progress monitoring, risk and change management.
  • Establish project controls, KPIs, dashboards and performance reporting mechanisms.
  • Monitor EPC contractors, consultants, vendors and multiple project stakeholders.
  • Client Advisory & Delivery Advise senior client stakeholders on project execution strategy, governance and performance improvement.
  • Identify project risks, delays, cost overruns and schedule slippages and develop mitigation plans.
  • Lead project reviews, steering committee meetings and executive-level reporting.
  • Support clients in improving project delivery processes and controls.
  • Digital & Project Controls Drive implementation and optimization of Oracle Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, SAP/ERP and other project management systems.
  • Develop integrated project schedules, cost dashboards and management information systems.
  • Promote digital transformation and data-driven decision-making across capital projects.
  • Team Leadership Lead multidisciplinary teams comprising project controls, planning, commercial, risk, engineering and PMO professionals.
  • Mentor consultants and project management teams and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Partners, Directors and cross-functional consulting teams.
  • Business Development Support Partners and Directors in identifying and developing new capital projects opportunities.
  • Lead preparation of proposals, RFP responses, presentations and client pitches.
  • Build strong relationships with CXOs, Project Directors, EPC leaders and senior client stakeholders.
  • Thought Leadership Contribute to industry reports, white papers, case studies and capital project insights.
  • Represent the organization at client meetings, industry forums and relevant conferences.

Required Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of experience in Capital Projects, EPC, Infrastructure Consulting, Project Management or PMO.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale capital projects/programs, preferably in Renewables, Solar Cell Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Refining, Power or Industrial Projects.
  • Strong expertise in Project Controls, Planning & Scheduling, Cost Management, Risk Management and PMO Governance.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, consultants and multiple project stakeholders.
  • Experience with Big 4 / Management Consulting / PMC / EPC organizations preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • MBA / PMP / equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Preferred Skills Strong knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP/ERP and Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project execution, contracts, procurement and construction management.
  • Knowledge of ESG, sustainability, statutory and regulatory requirements in capital projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work across project sites and travel extensively as required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and team leadership capabilities.
