Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited seeks a Platform Purchase Lead to drive techno-commercial sourcing for vehicle platforms. You will finalize Statements of Requirements and drawings with supplier capability and cost feasibility, secure technical sign-offs, and ensure suppliers can meet TCP targets across components.

You will oversee SBC and quote synthesis, evaluate capex, ensure supplier capacity and make-versus-buy decisions, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and support project budgeting

• Experience 10-20 years in platform purchase or related procurement roles.

Platform Purchase Lead Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Technical Responsibilities Ensure timely finalization of SoR and drawings by incorporating supplier capability and cost feasibility inputs in coordination with PEL. Obtain comprehensive and timely SBC (material cost) assessments and supplier feedback to support design finalization. Complete technical sign-offs jointly with PEL and COE, ensuring only suppliers capable of meeting TCP targets are approved for sourcing. Techno-Commercial Responsibilities Drive achievement of TCP targets through effective SBC and quote synthesis activities. Ensure accurate and timely completion of quote synthesis, including supplier feedback, capex requirements, part pricing, and manufacturing process details. Validate supplier capacity to deliver required volumes within project timelines and scale-up requirements. Evaluate and recommend cost trade-offs at the commodity level to minimize deviations from vehicle-level TCP targets. Align assumptions across SBC, SoR, and supplier quotations to maintain close correlation between target and quoted costs. Ensure shortlisted suppliers are capable of meeting both technical and commercial targets for every part.

Commercial Responsibilities Coordinate with SSU and PSL for timely supplier panel finalization and VoB closure. Ensure only suppliers that have successfully completed technical sign-off are onboarded into the sourcing panel.

Part Development Responsibilities Maintain part-wise BOM and manage associated capex requirements throughout the development lifecycle. Deliver parts within approved material cost targets and budgeted investments for bought-out components. Ensure delivery of parts meeting quality requirements as defined under Project MRD2. Drive timely completion of vendor PPAP activities and seamless handover to SQE and SCM teams.

Business & Strategic Decision Support Support project budgeting by providing part development–related inputs for business case preparation. Provide techno-commercial feasibility assessments to PEL for system-level target deployment and decision-making. Contribute to make-versus-buy decisions by providing timely inputs aligned with platform TCP targets, in collaboration with PPH, PMH, PFH, and CPH.
