Job summary

InterEx Group in India is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer / Cloud Infrastructure Lead to own offshore platform engineering supporting large-scale data and AI infrastructure. This hands-on leadership role covers production operations, AWS infrastructure, automation, cost optimisation, and mentoring an offshore engineering team while coordinating with global onshore teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of platform, infrastructure, cloud or DevOps experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience across EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Glue, Athena, EMR and CloudWatch.
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code proficiency.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and production monitoring/incident response.
• Strong Python and Linux/shell scripting.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
• Experience with data pipelines and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Airflow, Spark).

Job description

We’re looking for a senior Platform Engineer / Cloud Infrastructure Lead to take ownership of an offshore platform engineering function supporting large-scale data and AI infrastructure.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be responsible for production operations, AWS infrastructure, automation, cost optimisation and leading an offshore engineering team.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead offshore platform engineering and own production support during offshore hours


• Build and optimise AWS infrastructure, data pipelines and cloud environments


• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, pipelines and infrastructure independently


• Drive AWS cost optimisation, resource utilisation and AI/cloud spend visibility


• Develop automation, internal tooling and services primarily using Python


• Work with Terraform, Docker, CI/CD, Kafka/event-driven systems and monitoring


• Lead, mentor and develop offshore engineers while coordinating with global/onshore teams

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years of platform, infrastructure, cloud or DevOps engineering experience


• Strong, hands-on AWS experience across services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Glue, Athena, EMR and CloudWatch


• Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience


• Experience with Docker, CI/CD and production monitoring/incident response


• Strong Python and Linux/shell scripting skills


• Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams


• Experience with data pipelines, event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka, Airflow or Spark


• Comfortable making independent technical decisions and resolving production issues without constant escalation

Telecommunications / network infrastructure experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
