Qualifications

We are seeking a talented Platform Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This is a contract position that offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work both remotely and face-to-face with the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
• Lead communication across time zones and coordinate with onshore teams.
• Utilize expert-level experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Glue, Athena, EMR, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation.
• Monitor production systems, manage alerting, and respond to incidents at scale.
• Optimize costs in AWS environments.
• Work with containerization technologies (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred).
• Design event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, SNS/SQS, EventBridge).
• Manage and mentor engineering teams.
• Make independent technical decisions and triage production issues without escalation.
• Understand data pipeline architectures (both batch and streaming) and common failure modes.
• Apply networking fundamentals including DNS, CIDR, NAT, VPC endpoints, firewalls, and security groups.
• Utilize proficiency in Python (or a comparable general-purpose language) for automation, tooling, and applications.
• Demonstrate solid software engineering fundamentals including Git-based workflows, code review, modular design, dependency management, and writing maintainable, documented code.
• Write automated tests (unit/integration) for application and infrastructure code, integrating those tests into CI/CD.
• Develop integration code against REST APIs and cloud SDKs (e.g., AWS SDK / boto3).

Requirements

• Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or relevant experience.
• 8+ years of platform/infrastructure engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, including 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
• 6+ years of platform/infrastructure engineering experience with a Master's degree, including 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
• Experience with Apache Spark (Scala preferred), Apache Kafka, Airflow, and graph databases (AWS Neptune, Neo4j).
• Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure requirements.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar) are preferred.
• Experience developing and operating small services or APIs (e.g., FastAPI/Flask) in a production environment.

Work Arrangements

• Work schedule is hybrid, allowing for both remote and face-to-face collaboration.
• Office visits are required as needed for team coordination.
