The Plant Operator Helper will assist the Plant Operator in day-to-day operations, basic equipment handling, cleaning, and maintenance activities in water and wastewater treatment plants. This role is ideal for freshers or candidates with up to 2 years of experience who are willing to learn plant operations and grow into a skilled operator role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Plant Operator in running and monitoring STP/ETP/WTP/RO plant operations.
- Help in starting and stopping pumps, blowers, mixers, and other equipment as instructed.
- Support in monitoring gauges, flow meters, and basic plant parameters.
2. Routine Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Clean tanks, screens, filters, and plant equipment as per schedule.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as tightening bolts, checking leaks, cleaning pipelines, etc.
- Maintain overall cleanliness of the plant area and ensure safe working conditions.
3. Sampling & Basic Reporting
- Assist in collecting water samples for testing.
- Help in maintaining logbooks, daily activity records, and chemical usage reports.
- Report any unusual noise, leakage, odor, or equipment malfunction to the Operator/Supervisor.
4. Chemical Handling Support
- Assist in dosing chemical solutions as per supervisor instructions.
- Safely handle and store chemicals following safety guidelines.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Follow all site safety rules, PPE requirements, and SOPs.
- Participate in safety drills and toolbox meetings.
- Immediately report any safety hazard or near-miss incident.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
0–2 years of experience in plant operations (water/wastewater/STP/ETP) is an advantage but not mandatory.
