Job description

An STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) Operator manages, monitors, and maintains wastewater treatment equipment to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Key duties include operating pumps/motors, conducting water quality tests (pH, DO), chemical dosing, and documenting daily operational logs.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Control: Monitor and control treatment processes (screening, aeration, filtration, disinfection) to ensure effective wastewater treatment.
• Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including pumps, blowers, and sludge handling units, to prevent downtime.
• Quality Testing: Collect, test, and analyze sewage/water samples to ensure compliance with Pollution Control Board regulations.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logbooks, records of plant performance, and chemical consumption.
• Troubleshooting: Identify operational issues, malfunctions, or irregularities and take immediate corrective action.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Additional Comments

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (ITI in Fitter/Electrical/Mechanical or related trade is often preferred).
