Job summary

Planodrives Pte. Ltd. in Gujarat is seeking a plant operator to manage water and wastewater treatment plants. You will operate and monitor processes per SOPs, collect samples, log results, and coordinate with maintenance teams.

The role requires an ITI or Diploma in chemical/environmental/mechanical and at least 2 years of hands-on experience. Knowledge of pumps, valves, filters, dosing systems, and basic instrumentation is essential. Willingness to work in shifts is required.

Qualifications

• ITI/ Diploma holders with plant operation knowledge.
• Familiarity with pumps, valves, filters, dosing systems and instrumentation a plus.
• Ability to read gauges, follow SOPs and maintain operating logs.
• Willingness to work in shifts and respond to plant emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment and wastewater treatment plants as per SOPs.
• Run pretreatment, clarifiers, multimedia/activated carbon filters, UF, RO, DM, cooling water and boiler feed water systems.
• Operate biological treatment, physico-chemical treatment (DAF, CAF) and sludge handling units.
• Prepare chemical solutions and carry out chemical dosing as instructed.
• Take samples, run routine tests (pH, TDS, conductivity, turbidity, COD, etc.) and record results.
• Record operating parameters, shift logs and chemical consumption accurately.
• Carry out routine plant rounds and report abnormalities (leaks, noise, vibration, alarms) immediately.
• Perform basic pump, valve and filter operation, changeover and backwash.
• Support maintenance teams during repairs, shutdowns and cleaning.
• Follow EHS, PTW, lockout/tagout, confined space and chemical handling requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping and hand over shift status properly.

Desired profile of the candidate

• Minimum 2 years in operating water or wastewater treatment plants (ETP / STP / WTP / RO / DM)
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, filters, dosing systems and basic instrumentation
• Understanding of basic water quality parameters and chemical dosing
• Able to read gauges, follow SOPs and maintain operating logs
• Awareness of plant safety and PTW procedures
• Willing to work in shifts and respond to plant emergencies
• Relevant training or certification in plant operation is an advantage
