Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy is seeking a production optimization lead for a plastic recycling plant in Maharashtra. The role focuses on planning production activities to meet customer requirements while emphasizing safety and environmental compliance.

You will develop and guide a team of operators and engineers, drive continuous improvement, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards across all plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive continuous improvement of the production process to improve quality, quantity, efficiency and yield.
• Identify, minimize and resolve unsafe conditions and assess major risks while guiding contract workers on safety procedures.
• Identify OHS hazards and environmental aspects and carry out risk assessments; ensure contract workers follow safety procedures.
• Carry out Root Cause Analysis of breakdowns and deviations and review process safety to achieve zero accidents and zero breakdowns.
• Comply with legal and statutory requirements of State Pollution Control Board and Factory Act.
• Coordinate with maintenance, safety, process, instrumentation, electrical and other departments to maintain safety standards across machinery and environment.
• Ensure availability of raw materials/finished goods through internal communication with dispatch/marketing and other divisions.
• Modify SOPs as needed and comply with MOC guidelines to continuously improve processes.
• Maximise plant and utility utilisation to meet volumes, quality and cost targets.
• Conduct Job Safety Analysis, monitor deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Manage a team of operators, section-in-charge and engineers for smooth operations.
• Maintain and enforce housekeeping standards; participate in PSSR, HAZOP, HIRA.
• Ensure zero tolerance in the plant; handle and resolve customer complaints about finished goods.
• Manage waste disposal per environmental compliance; focus on team building and on-the-job training.
• Coordinate with projects team for new projects or modifications; drive 5S, Kaizen, Poka Yoke in productivity & quality.
• Ensure compliance to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001; lead audits as auditee and avoid major NCs.
• Experience in waste management and materials recovery in plastic recycling is advantageous.

Job description

Responsible for optimizing plant production to meet the customer requirements by strategizing & planning production activities for plastic recycling

Key Role & Responsibilities

• - Lead and drive continuous improvement of the production process to improve quality, quantity, efficiency and yield
• - Identify, minimize and resolve the unsafe condition, major risks by taking corrective action Inculcate Safety First attitude’ in everyone in the department and provide guidance to contract workman for Safety procedure & hazards
• - Identify the OHS (occupational Health & Safety) hazards and environmental aspects for activities within the plant and carry out risk assessment of the same also, ensure that Contract workers in plant follow proper Safety procedures
• - Carry out Root Cause Analysis of breakdowns & major deviations and make necessary corrections by reviewing process safety to achieve Zero Accidents & Zero Breakdown goal and conduct risk assessment for process and operation with Safety & process team
• - Comply with legal and statutory compliance requirement of State Pollution Control Board & Factory Act
• - Coordinate & follow-up with department like maintenance, safety, process, instrumentation, electrical etc. to maintain the safety standards of all the operative machinery and environment
• - Ensure the availability of raw materials/finished goods by maintaining the necessary communication with other in-house divisions, dispatch/marketing departments
• - Modify existing SOPs(Standard Operating Procedure) in case of change and abide by MOC(Management of Change) guidelines and add value by taking initiatives to continuously improve the process
• - Responsible to maximise utilisation of plants and utilities to meet and exceed the volumes, quality and cost effectiveness
• - Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), monitor any deviation and take corrective measures to curtail risks
• - Manage and develop a team of operators, section-in-charge and engineers for smooth plant operations
• - Maintain & enforce excellent standards housekeeping Participate and provide inputs in PSSR(Pre Startup Safety Review), HAZOP, HIRA
• - Ensure the adherence to Zero Tolerance in Plant Handle & resolve customer complaints for any deviation in finished goods specifications
• - Manage the waste disposal as per statutory environmental compliance Focus on team building and skill development activities by provide the necessary training and guidance to the team, also provide them with on-the-job trainings
• - Coordinate with the projects team for new projects or any modifications in the existing setup
• -Drive the operation excellence initiatives such as 5S, Quality Circle, Kaizen, Poka Yoke etc. in the area of Productivity & Quality Management.
• -Ensure the compliance to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001. Lead the audits as an auditee & ensure no major NC in the audits.
