Job summary

Air Water India is seeking a Plant Manager in Tamil Nadu to lead site operations, drive safety culture, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role focuses on building a capable operations team, optimizing asset use, and delivering quality products on schedule.

You will manage maintenance, safety, and environmental policies, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to sustain profitability and competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Safety, provide visible leadership and create a zero-incident culture
  • Recruiting, training, development & management of site operations team
  • Coaching & mentoring of site operations team
  • Adjust remuneration to balance people cost and competence
  • Provide training for staffs from outside the area of responsibility
  • Ensure a sufficient pool of personnel to cope with attrition without adverse effect on the business
  • Create a culture of openness, willingness to contribute, mutual learning, continuous improvement, and innovation across functions / organization boundaries to achieve competitive advantage in the market
  • Empower the site staff to take appropriate & immediate decision in emergency
  • Foster / drive collaboration across functions and organization boundaries
  • Drive, monitor and enforce compliance to all relevant internal and external regulations, standards, and work processes
  • Ensure implementation of the corrective actions from the audits, Root Cause Analysis, Alerts & Directives
  • Anticipate future product demand and ensure adequate budget, assets, manpower & utilities are available to meet the demand (immediate, short term and long term)
  • Ensure availability and use of adequate means to perform safely & effectively
  • Implementation of Quality Policy, Safety & Environment Policy & Objectives as defined
  • IMS -Implementation (QMS, EMS & OHSAS in line with ISO 9001: 2015; 15001:2015; 45001:2018 standards)
  • Ensure adequate training/instruction to everybody at site with respect to hazards & safe behavior
  • Support investigation of any safety incidents, root cause analysis and lead implementation of the corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans
  • Drive and lead continuous proactive identification of risks
  • Eliminate or mitigate severe risks immediately
  • Eliminate / mitigate other risks in an adequate timeframe
  • Optimize the use of existing assets to meet the customer demand and maximize profit
  • Establish/maintain quality assurance systems to monitor the quality of product & services
  • Establish/maintain processes to address off-spec quality and any failure of monitoring system
  • 1.Ensure the assets are maintained in a way that they live their intended lifetime,
  • 2. Implement replacement strategy for assets to take care of obsolescence
  • 3.Determine the timing and review the duration and principal scope of turnarounds
  • 4.Propose & control budget for the turnaround and coordinate the planning and execution
  • 5.Propose & control the budget for Repair & Maintenance and ensure implementation of agreed regime on sites
  • 6.Support harmonization and bundling of service providers and suppliers.
  • 7.Ensure availability and effective use of maintenance planning tools
  • 8. Ensure adequate resources are available for maintenance.
  • 9. Coordinate maintenance activities
  • Initiate projects to add / modify assets to meet the market demand in the most profitable way
  • Provide operational data for new projects
  • For local project scope, ensure delivery at desired quality, cost and time
  • Implement contingencies to respond to unplanned breakdown/incident
  • Support root cause failure analysis for every incident and implement learnings
  • For all plants report hazards, incidents and near misses; status of corrective actions from Audits, Directives, alerts etc
  • Exhibit communication skill and leadership, track team performance and enforce maintenance standards

  • Establish/maintain quality assurance systems to monitor the quality of product & services.

  • 6.Support harmonization and bundling of service providers and suppliers.

Projects / Modifications
  • Initiate projects to add / modify assets to meet the market demand in the most profitable way and ensure that the intended results are delivered.
  • Provide operational data & requirements (eg ambient conditions, utility availability, customer consumption & demand pattern, staffing, local scope & associated cost etc) for new projects.
  • For local project scope, ensure delivery at desired quality, cost and time.
Troubleshooting
  • Implement contingencies to respond to any unplanned breakdown/incident.
  • Support root cause failure analysis for every incident and implement learnings
Reporting / performance managementFor all plants report:
  • hazards, incidents and near misses
  • status of corrective actions from Audits, Directives, alerts etc
Functional Competence:

Exhibit communication skill and leadership, track team performance on day-to-day basis, enforcing maintenance standards rules and expectations of workers, adaptability with business change, maximizing workers utilization, improving sustainability, making facility more efficient, motivate team members, exhibit planning, reviewing production process & outcome, relationship with other departments & statutory bodies and efficient conflict management
