Job summary

Henkel seeks an experienced Plant Manager to lead Kurkumbh plant operations, drive manufacturing excellence, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will guide capability development, implement improvement initiatives, and uphold a high-performance culture.

The role requires hands-on leadership across production, maintenance, and engineering with a strong focus on OEE and cost optimization. Stakeholder management and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from a reputed college.
  • MBA is a plus but not mandatory.

  • Deliver KPIs for safety, quality, cost, delivery and productivity.

Job description

About this Position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations at our Kurkumbh plant. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end plant operations, driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements, and delivering business performance objectives.

The incumbent will play a critical leadership role in developing manufacturing capabilities, fostering a high-performance culture, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to achieve world-class operational standards.

What You´ll Do
  • Lead all plant operations, including, production, maintenance, engineering, quality
  • Develop and execute long-term manufacturing strategies aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Deliver plant performance KPIs related to safety, quality, cost, delivery and productivity.
  • Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and Henkel corporate standards related to Safety, Health, Environment.
  • Lead workforce planning, capability development and succession planning for plant employees.
  • Serve as the primary company representative for local authorities, statutory bodies and employee unions/councils.
  • Manage plant budgets, investment planning, CAPEX projects and fixed asset management.
  • Drive implementation of Henkel Production System (HPS) initiatives and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, innovation and high performance across the plant.
What makes you a good fit
  • B.Tech Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, preferably from a Tier 1 and Tier 2 college. MBA will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 10years of industry experience
  • Experience of leading production in a large site (1000+ manpower) or leading production in a small/mid size plant (30-60 employees) in Batch process manufacturing
  • Certification of Lean Six Sigma (Greenbelt) is expected.
  • Industry experience in Pharma (API), Specialty Chemicals is highly preferred. FMCG can also be considered from industry where hygiene is important.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills along with ability to engage the shop floor.
  • High energy, pro-active individual with strong stakeholder management abilities.
