Salem Stainless Steel Suppliers is seeking a Plant Operations Leader in Tamil Nadu to own daily plant operations, production planning and shop-floor activities. You will oversee CTL, slitting and coil/sheet processing machinery, ensure optimum utilization, yield and quality, and drive maintenance and KPI-driven improvements.

The role requires hands-on service centre experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage day-to-day operations with minimal supervision.

Qualificações

• 58 years of relevant experience in a metal/steel service centre.
• Experience in a service centre handling SS / MS / GI / Aluminium or similar coil and sheet products.
• Hands-on knowledge of coil and sheet processing operations.
• Experience with Cut-to-Length, Slitting and other processing machinery.
• Good understanding of material yield, wastage and production planning.
• Strong experience in shop-floor and manpower management.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to independently manage day-to-day plant operations.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience setting up or commissioning a new service centre.

Responsabilidades

• Take complete ownership of plant operations, production and shop-floor activities.
• Plan and manage daily production based on customer requirements and material availability.
• Manage and monitor CTL, Slitting and other coil/sheet processing machinery.
• Ensure optimum machine utilisation, productivity and material yield.
• Monitor production losses, scrap, wastage and process efficiency.
• Manage coil receiving, processing, packing, storage and finished-goods movement.
• Ensure quality standards and minimise rejections.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and minimise machine downtime.
• Manage production, maintenance, quality, stores and shop-floor manpower.
• Implement SOPs, safety, housekeeping and operational systems.
• Monitor KPIs including production, yield, wastage, downtime, rejection and dispatch efficiency.
• Coordinate with Sales, Purchase, Stores and Logistics teams.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and improve productivity and efficiency.
• Build and manage a disciplined and performance-oriented plant team.

Candidate Profile

• 58 years of relevant experience in a Metal / Steel Service Centre.
• Mandatory: Experience in a service centre handling SS / MS / GI / Aluminium or similar coil and sheet products.
• Hands-on knowledge of coil and sheet processing operations.
• Experience with Cut-to-Length, Slitting and other processing machinery.
• Good understanding of material yield, wastage and production planning.
• Strong experience in shop-floor and manpower management.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to independently manage day-to-day plant operations.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience in setting up or commissioning a new service centre will be an added advantage.

Important Requirement

This position is specifically for candidates with actual Metal/Steel Service Centre experience.

Candidates with only general manufacturing, production or administrative/managerial experience without hands-on Service Centre experience may not be suitable.

Experience with other coil, sheet processing or finishing equipment will also be considered.
