Job summary

Global European Manufacturing Group is seeking a Plant Controller for its Pune site, to own plant finance and partner with the General Manager on strategy and performance.

You will lead budgeting, costing, close, and group reporting to Europe, while driving improvements in SAP processes, controls, and working capital. 7–8 years manufacturing finance experience and CMA ICWA required.

Qualifications

• CMA (ICWA) qualification.
• 7–8 years of experience in manufacturing finance, with at least 4 years in plant costing or controlling.
• Strong command of standard costing, variance analysis and inventory valuation.
• Hands-on experience with SAP FI/CO or a comparable ERP.
• Experience reporting to an overseas parent or working in a multinational.
• European group exposure is a plus.
• Ability to explain finance to non-finance colleagues and to challenge them constructively.
• Comfort working independently in a small team where you do the work yourself.

Responsibilities

• Run the plant’s annual budget, rolling forecasts and monthly performance reviews with the GM and site leadership.
• Own standard costing, inventory valuation, cost-centre accounting and variance analysis (material, labour, overheads).
• Deliver the monthly close and group reporting pack to Europe on the group calendar, including intercompany reconciliations and Ind AS to group GAAP reconciliation.
• Build business cases for CAPEX and improvement projects, with ROI and scenario analysis.
• Work with Operations, Supply Chain and Engineering to improve inventory accuracy, reduce working capital and find cost-saving opportunities.
• Support statutory, internal and group audits, and maintain internal financial controls.
• Contribute to improvements in SAP and reporting processes.

Plant Controller | Pune | Global European Manufacturing Group

About our client:

Our client is a European family-owned industrial manufacturer with a global footprint and a growing manufacturing site near Pune. They are looking for a Plant Controller to be the finance lead for the site, working closely with the General Manager and reporting functionally to the group finance team in Europe.

The role:

This is an individual contributor role with full ownership of plant finance. You will be the General Manager’s finance partner on the shop floor, turning cost and margin data into decisions. You will also be the main link to the controlling team in Germany for planning, month-end close and group reporting.
