Position Summary

The Placement Officer will play a key role in strengthening industry partnerships and facilitating campus recruitment opportunities for students from the Schools of Engineering, Design, and Law. The incumbent will be responsible for corporate outreach, employer engagement, placement coordination, internship facilitation, and student employability initiatives to achieve placement targets and enhance the University's industry presence.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Relations & Business Development

• Establish and maintain relationships with leading companies, law firms, consulting organizations, engineering firms, technology companies, design studios, and startups.
• Identify and onboard new recruiters for campus placements and internships.
• Conduct regular corporate visits and networking activities to promote Presidency University talent.
• Build strategic partnerships with industry associations, chambers of commerce, and professional bodies.

Campus Placements

• Plan, coordinate, and execute placement drives for Engineering, Design, and Law students.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews, assessments, pre-placement talks, and offer management.
• Ensure achievement of placement targets in terms of student participation, offers secured, and recruiter engagement.
• Maintain strong engagement with recruiters to enhance hiring opportunities.

Internship & Industry Engagement

• Facilitate internships, live projects, apprenticeships, and industry-sponsored assignments.
• Coordinate industry interaction programs, guest lectures, workshops, and networking events.
• Develop pathways for students to gain practical industry exposure.

Student Development & Employability

• Work closely with faculty and academic departments to improve student employability outcomes.
• Organize training programs on aptitude, interview preparedness, communication skills, resume building, portfolio presentations, and professional etiquette.
• Guide students on career planning and industry expectations.

Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate placement and internship records, recruiter databases, and student profiles.
• Generate periodic MIS reports, placement analytics, and employer feedback reports.
• Track placement performance metrics and recommend strategies for improvement.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, alumni, and industry partners.
• Act as the primary point of contact between recruiters and the University.
• Leverage alumni networks for mentorship, internships, and placement opportunities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, Engineering, or related field.
• MBA or Postgraduate qualification will be preferred.

Experience

• 3 to 8 years of experience in Campus Placements, Corporate Relations, Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, Business Development, or Career Services.
• Experience in higher education institutions, universities, engineering colleges, design schools, or law schools is highly desirable.
