Job Title: Placement Officer

Reports To: Head of Placements

Job Type: Full-time

Role Overview

The Placement Officer leads campus recruitment drives, builds institutional relationships with corporate recruiters, and prepares students for transition into the workforce. The role involves managing end-to-end recruitment operations, organizing career readiness training, and expanding the institutes employer network across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate Relations & Outreach
  • Identify, engage, and onboard new corporate partners and alumni networks for on-campus and virtual hiring drives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR leaders and talent acquisition teams regarding recruitment policies, job descriptions, and scheduling.
  • Maintain a database of existing recruiting partners, industry contacts, and hiring trends.
Recruitment Drive Management
  • Organize and execute end-to-end placement logistics: pre-placement talks (PPTs), written/aptitude tests, technical evaluations, group discussions, and personal interviews.
  • Manage post-selection workflows, including offer rollouts, acceptance tracking, and onboarding coordination.
  • Resolve student and recruiter grievances during active drives swiftly and professionally.
Student Career Readiness & Training
  • Coordinate pre-placement training modules covering resume building, mock interviews, aptitude problem-solving, and professional etiquette.
  • Track individual student eligibility, academic performance, and placement preferences to match profiles with suitable job opportunities.
  • Conduct counselling sessions to guide students on career pathways, domain-specific job expectations, and market standards.
Data Management & Reporting
  • Maintain placement statistics, including package details (CTC), sector-wise placements.
  • Prepare periodic reports and executive summaries for institutional leadership and governing boards.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in corporate talent acquisition, campus recruitment.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal, presentation, and written communication skills with strong executive presence.
  • Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to network, negotiate, and maintain long-term partnerships with corporate leadership.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace

  • Placement Percentage: Percentage of eligible students placed within the academic cycle.
  • Recruiter Diversity: Year-over-year increase in new corporate recruiters visiting campus.
