Job summary

Praj in Pune, India seeks a piping engineering professional to interpret contracts and define technical scope for projects and proposals. You will develop piping specs, ensure compliance with ASME, API, EN, and other codes, and prepare associated design and inspection documents.

The role requires hands-on experience with ASME B31.1/B31.3, BPV, and EN 13480, along with awareness of European and international directives. Coordination with multi-discipline teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge in Piping Engineering across sectors and industries.
• Understanding of Contracts.
• Knowledge of national & international design codes, standards & regulations (ASME, API, BS, Indian, DIN, EN).
• Hands-on experience with ASME B31.1, B31.3, BPV Code, EN 13480.
• Familiarity with European, American, African, Brazilian, Australian directives.

Responsibilities

• Understand and interpret contract agreements and scope of technical requirements for projects/proposals.
• Ensure accurate piping specification documents with requisite codes and standards for projects.
• Deliver wall thickness, branch & stiffener calculations per applicable codes (ASME, BS, EN, DIN).
• Prepare specifications for valves, piping material, insulation, painting & miscellaneous parts.
• Prepare inspection & testing requirement specs for fabrication & installation of piping.
• Coordinate with layout, 3D software administration and other engineering/non-engineering disciplines.
• Prepare deviation lists and obtain client approvals.
• Prepare design documents for piping design appraisals per PED/CE, CRN/PE.
• Coordinate with procurement and construction teams for timely delivery.

Role & responsibilities

• 1. Understand and interpret contract agreements and scope of technical requirements for projects/ proposals.
• 2. Ensure accurate piping specification documents for projects incorporating requisite codes and standards for projects (National and International, Piping Engineering Design and Material specifications Codes and Standards).
• 3. Deliver wall thickness, branch & stiffener calculations as per applicable codes (ASME, BS, EN, DIN etc.)
• 4. Prepare accurate specifications for Valves, Piping Material, Insulation, Painting & Misc./ special parts specification.
• 5. Prepare inspection & testing requirement specifications for Fabrication & installation of piping.
• 6. Enable smooth co-ordination with intra-discipline groups namely Layout, 3D Software Administration and with other Engineering and Non-Engineering disciplines.
• 7. Ensure Preparation of deviation list, get clarification for queries & approval from client for deviation list.
• 8. Preparation of Design Documents for Piping Design Appraisals as per PED/CE, CRN/PE etc.
• 9. Coordinate with Procurement Team & Construction team for timely delivery and completion of projects.
