Job summary

ICON Industrial Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad seeks an experienced Lead Piping Design Engineer to oversee Basic and Detail piping design activities for major projects.

You will lead in-house teams including Materials, Layout, Stress analysis and CAD designers to deliver piping engineering for assigned tasks. Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Basic & Detail Piping design engineering activities for projects.
• Manage a team of Inhouse engineers comprising Materials, Layout, Stress analysis, CAD designers to deliver piping engineering.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to integrate piping designs into overall plant design.
• Define activities and piping deliverables, set up schedules and coordinate with other disciplines during BID/FEED/Detail phases.

Job description

• Lead and oversee Basic & Detail Piping design engineering activities for projects.
• Manage a team of Inhouse engineers comprising of Materials, Layout, Stress analysis , CAD designers to deliver the piping engineering of the projects.
• Manage Piping engineering works subcontracted to third party engineering agencies as and when required.
• Optimization of layouts and materials to reduce CAPEX.
• Integrate Best HSE Practices in the Piping design of plants and associated facilities.
• Review of Client project design basis, applicable codes and standards, local regulations and incorporate the same in piping design basis
• Develop Piping design basis, piping layouts, study and analysis of client plot plan , isometrics, and general arrangements ensuring compliance with project specifications, Piping materials, Codes, and standards.
• Perform piping stress analysis using tools like Caesar II to validate design integrity and optimize piping systems.
• Provide guidance and technical expertise in piping design, material selection, and installation methods.
• Through knowledge of 3D modelling processes, tools, and procedures. Should be able to guide the modelers for preparation of 3D models
• Coordinate with other Engineering disciplines to integrate piping designs into overall plant design.
• Define Activities and Piping Deliverables, set up schedule and co-ordinate activities with other disciplines during BID phase, FEED Phase and Detail Engineering Phase as per the requirements of Contract.
• Manage a team of engineers/designers; define piping deliverables; conduct material take-offs and technical bid evaluations.
• Should be a Team Leader/player and effectively Manage Team of Engineers/Designers/Draftsman.
• Manage Piping Material Take off, Specification, Material requisition, Technical Bid Evaluation for procurement and vendor follow up.
• Guarantee proper Work flow, interfaces, quality checks and approval of piping project documents.
• Conform Piping Efficient working, Project Progress, monitor and control man-hour budget.
• Support project effort with identification of changes to the contract scope
• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of piping components.
• Participate in client, PMC, Engineering sub-contractor, vendors, and other internal and external stake holders meetings.
• Further develop and strengthen Piping department to meet business objectives.
• Support site activities, inspections, and troubleshooting related to piping installations as needed.

Additional Skills

• Proficiency in Piping materials, Codes, and standards relevant to the industry.
