Job summary

AM Green Ammonia is seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to lead basic and detailed engineering for ammonia/fertilizer projects. You will oversee plot plans, piping layouts, nozzle orientations, and GA drawings, while developing piping specifications and design criteria for critical equipment.

The role requires 10–12 years in ammonia/fertilizer/oil & gas plants, with exposure to international codes such as ASME/API/OISD and proficiency in 3D modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a reputed institute.
• 10-12 years of experience in Ammonia / Fertilizer / Oil & Gas plants; detailed engineering preferred.
• Experience with engineering design and construction and knowledge of international codes & standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervising team in preparation and development of Basic/Detailed engineering deliverables (Plot Plan, Equipment & Piping layouts, Nozzle orientations, Piping GA drawings).
• Prepare piping and valve material specifications and design criteria.
• Know-how of critical equipment (Column, Compressors, Reactors, Vessels, Exchangers, Air cooler, pumps).
• Perform Seismic, Wind, Hydro test, and PSV analyses for critical piping and buried piping.
• Manage 3D model review sessions.
• Engage in techno-commercial discussions during piping procurement.
• Procurement engineering of piping materials (MR, TBE, VDR) and technical specs.
• Coordinate with vendors, provide field engineering support, and interact with contractor and PMC to resolve issues.
• Exposure to ASME, API, OISD codes for hydrocarbon and fertilizer projects.
• Provide field engineering support during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning stages.
• Maintain piping procedures, checklists, work instructions, and templates.
• Finalize department skill matrix and arrange trainings.

Job description

• Piping knowledge of critical equipment such as Column, Compressors, Reactors, Vessels, Exchangers, Air cooler and pumps.
• Knowledge of various analysis - Seismic Analysis, Wind Analysis, Hydro test, and PSV analysis for critical piping and buried piping analysis.
• Managing 3D model review sessions.
• Participate in Techno-commercial discussion during procurement of all Piping related components.
• Procurement Engineering of piping material such as MR, TBE and VDR, Technical specifications.
• Interdisciplinary coordination, Vendor Interactions, Providing field engineering support etc.
• Interaction with Contractor and PMC team to resolve design related issues.
• Detailed exposure of international codes and standards, such as ASME, API, OISD standards related to hydrocarbon and Fertilizer projects.
• Ensure efficient field engineering support to the site team during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning stages.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating piping related procedures, checklist, work instructions and drawing templates within department.
• Finalising skill matrix for the department and arrange the require trainings.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in the field of mechanical engineering from reputed institute.
• 10-12 years of experience in the Ammonia / Fertilizer / Oil & Gas plant is required. Detail engineering experience will be preferred.
• Must have experience of Engineering design and construction with a thorough knowledge of engineering practices with applicable international codes & standards.
