Job summary

Creative Synergies in Bengaluru, India seeks an experienced Senior Pipe Stress Engineer to lead and oversee all pipe stress activities during design and project execution. You will guide the team in static/dynamic analyses with CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, and NozzlePRO, ensure code compliance (ASME B31.3/B31.1, WRC), and support sales during proposals.

Candidates typically hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree with 12–18 years of relevant experience and will work on cross-country and buried piping

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with 15–18 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 12–14 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in pipe stress analysis software (CAESAR II, AutoPIPE) and Nozzle analysis tools (PRG NozzlePRO).
  • Strong understanding of ASME B31.3, B31.1, Section VIII and WRC bulletins.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all pipe stress engineering and analysis activities during design and project execution phases.
  • Guide the pipe stress team in static and dynamic stress analyses for piping systems connected to static and rotating equipment.
  • Handle engineering responsibilities for cross-country pipelines, buried pipelines, jacketed piping, and containment piping systems.
  • Prepare stress isometric mark-ups, critical line lists, and PID markup for stress systems.
  • Design and verify pipe supports including springs, expansion joints, and snubbers to accommodate thermal expansion, vibration, and dynamic loads.
  • Oversee nozzle-to-shell junction analysis using PRG NozzlePRO and methodologies like WRC 107 and WRC 297.
  • Coordinate and review civil/structural load data for foundations and supports.
  • Assign, review, and check stress calculations and reports for critical piping systems.
  • Perform or guide root-cause analyses for qualification and site issues related to stress/design.
  • Support Sales during proposals, including customer meetings to address technical queries.

Role & responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all pipe stress engineering and analysis activities during design and project execution phases.
  • Guide the pipe stress team in performing static and dynamic stress analyses using relevant software (e.g., Caesar II, AutoPipe) for piping systems connected to static and rotating equipments in compliance with industry standards.
  • Handle engineering responsibilities for cross-country pipelines, buried pipelines, jacketed piping, and containment piping systems
  • Guide the team for preparation of detailed stress isometric mark-ups, critical line list and PID markup for stress systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge in designing pipe supports including spring hangers, expansion joints, and snubbers to effectively accommodate thermal expansion, vibration, and dynamic loads, ensuring piping system integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Oversee the nozzle-to-shell junction analysis using PRG NozzlePRO and methodologies like WRC 107 and WRC 297, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate and review civil and structural load data for foundations and supports, ensuring seamless multidisciplinary alignment.
  • Assign, review, and check stress calculations and reports for critical piping systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements
  • Perform or guide root-cause analyses and troubleshooting for qualification and site issues related to stress/design
  • Support the Sales team during the proposal phase, including participation in customer meetings to address technical queries, clarifications, and proposal walkthroughs.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree with 15–18 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 12–14 years of experience.
  • Prior experience in engineering services companies is preferred.
  • Proficiency in pipe stress analysis software (e.g., CAESAR II, AutoPIPE) and Nozzle analysis tools (e.g., PRG NozzlePRO).
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards: ASME B31.3, B31.1, Section VIII, and WRC bulletins.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to effectively engage with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
