Job summary

JGC Corporation is seeking a seasoned Piping Stress Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and 10+ years of piping experience for large-scale plant projects. The role involves managing stress analyses, coordinating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams, and delivering compliant documentation.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with ASME B31.3 and CAESAR II, with expertise in piping support design and fatigue assessment. EPC background preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university.
• 10+ years of piping engineering experience with minimum 5 projects as piping stress engineer in EPC firms.

Responsibilities

• Complete the work as a Piping Stress Engineer for oil refinery, LNG plant, and/or gas processing plant projects.
• Coordinate stress analysis with client, other disciplines, piping layout engineers, and engineering subcontractors.
• Perform piping stress analysis per applicable international codes and project specs.
• Monitor status and schedule for piping stress analysis activities.
• Review subcontractors engineering products.
• Prepare work instructions and procedures for stress analysis.
• Review vendor drawings and isom drawings for piping stress analysis.
• Design piping supports and verify their strength for standard and special supports.
• Prepare Stress Critical Line List, stress analysis reports, and project documentation.

Role & responsibilities

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university. A professional with 10+ years of piping engineering experience, Minimum 5 projects experience as piping stress engineer in EPC firms

• Complete the work as a Piping Stress Engineer for oil refinery projects, LNG plant projects, and/or gas processing plant projects:
• PJ coordination in terms of stress analysis with client, other disciplines, piping layout engineers, engineering subcontractors etc...
• Piping stress analysis as per relevant international codes and/or project specifications/guidelines
• Control status and schedule for piping stress analysis activities
• Check subcontractors engineering products
• Prepare work instructions and procedures for stress analysis
• Review vendors drawing
• Review Iso drawing in terms of piping stress analysis
• Piping support design

Key Skills

• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and other codes and standards such as ASME, API, MSS, NEMA etc...
• CAESAR II operation skills.
• Navisworks operation skills.
• Review and Analysis of piping systems connected to Pumps, Compressors, Heat Exchangers, Reactors, Air fin coolers, columns, Heaters, Coke drums, Tanks, Pressure vessels, Ejectors, Plate exchangers, Aluminium brazed plate exchangers, Jacketed Piping, PSV’s, Underground Piping systems etc.
• Support selection & developing special/miscellaneous piping support arrangements based on requirements of stress analysis.
• Support strength verification for standard supports and special supports.
• Preparation of index of Stress Critical Line List, stress Analysis reports and Documentation.
• Vendor Document review and commenting for mechanical specialty items.
• Preparing Structural Loading Data for Racks, Structures, Air cooler super structures etc. Platform Loading for Equipment’s.
• Preparation of the Specifications/Datasheets for springs, expansion Joints, struts, Snubbers, sway brace & other specialty items.
• Flange leakage analysis
• Module/FPSO sea transportation analysis considering wave motion.
• Fatigue analysis of piping system for module/FPSO.

Preferable Specific Skills

• Fundamental IT knowledge (Virtual Machine, Cloud, RPA, Machine Learning, etc)
• Fundamental IT skill e.g. Coding experience of Win API (Application Programming Interface), Microsoft VBA, VBScript, Python, C# etc
• Engineering data management and interface skill with engineering software
