Job summary

Bytes Technolab is seeking a Senior PHP Developer / Engineering Lead with 5+ years of experience to provide technical leadership and deliver high-quality web applications. You will guide developers, review code, own technical decisions, and collaborate with PMs, developers and clients to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires strong hands-on Core PHP and Laravel skills, understanding of OOP/MVC/APIs, and the ability to work independently, with occasional night support for client requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with hands-on work in Core PHP and Laravel.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, MVC, APIs, databases and software architecture.
• Experience leading or mentoring developers and performing code reviews.
• Proven ability to understand requirements and design technical solutions.
• Good debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and own architectural decisions for projects.
• Guide developers, review code, and ensure adherence to development standards.
• Translate business requirements into technical tasks and break them down for the team.
• Collaborate with PMs, developers and clients to ensure smooth delivery.
• Mentor team members and participate in client discussions, including night support when required.

We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer / Engineering Lead with 5+ years of experience to provide technical leadership and contribute to the development of high-quality custom web applications. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Core PHP and Laravel, along with the ability to take technical ownership, guide developers, review code, and make sound technical decisions.The role involves understanding business and technical requirements, defining solutions, breaking down requirements into development tasks, resolving complex technical issues, and maintaining development standards. The candidate will work closely with PMs, developers, and clients, participate in technical discussions, mentor team members, and ensure smooth project delivery. The candidate should be able to work independently with minimal dependency and may be required to provide client support during night hours based on project requirements. Experience with other technologies and frameworks will be an added advantage.
