DoorDash is establishing its India People function in Hyderabad to support a launch and growth phase. The India People Business Partner will be a visible, hands-on leader working with site leaders and employees to ensure effective teams, leadership consistency, and a healthy workplace as the site scales.

The role focuses on employee engagement, manager effectiveness, organizational effectiveness, talent management, and change management.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in a People BP/HRBP or similar role supporting business leaders and employees.
  • Hands-on people support in a high-growth, site-based, operations-focused, or multi-shift environment.
  • Experience applying employee relations, policy administration, and compliance in India.
  • Experience coaching managers and shaping organizational effectiveness, succession planning, and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

  • Partner daily with site and functional leaders on team effectiveness and manager support.
  • Support employee engagement, workplace culture, and manager consistency during process changes.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and role clarity to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Manage sensitive employee relations matters, investigations, and policy application.
  • Coordinate with two HR Generalists and align with leadership on site-level people risks.

Job description

The India People team is establishing the people practices and employee experience that will support the launch and growth of our Hyderabad site. We partner closely with site leaders and employees to create effective teams, consistent leadership practices, and a healthy, sustainable workplace as the operation scales.

About the Role

As the India People Business Partner, you will be a highly visible, hands-on presence at the Hyderabad site, staying close to daily operations, leaders, and employees throughout the site’s launch, growth, and stabilization. You will support employee engagement, manager effectiveness, organizational effectiveness, talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, and change management. You will coordinate two Human Resources Generalists and use people data to identify risks, improve day-to-day execution, and help shape the site’s future people practices. You will report to the People Director on our EE People Ops - HR Business Partner HRBP team in our HR organization.

Schedule: Night Shift — 5:00 PM–2:00 AM or 6:00 PM–3:00 AM

  • Partner daily with site and functional leaders on team effectiveness, manager support, performance concerns, role clarity, workforce needs, and other people topics that emerge as the site scales.
  • Support employee engagement, workplace culture, team health, and manager consistency while helping leaders and employees navigate new processes, changing structures, and operating model changes.
  • Support team design, workforce planning, succession planning, talent cycles, and role clarity while identifying opportunities to improve the site’s organizational effectiveness.
  • Manage sensitive employee relations matters, support investigations and escalations, and promote consistent application of company policies and local labor requirements.
  • Coordinate and prioritize the work of two Human Resources Generalists while partnering with the Senior Manager or Director on organizational decisions, talent priorities, escalations, and site-level people risks.

  • You have 6+ years of progressive experience in a People Business Partner, Human Resources Business Partner, or comparable role supporting business leaders and employees.
  • You have experience providing hands‑on people support in a high-growth, site‑based, operations‑focused, or multi‑shift environment.
  • You have applied knowledge of employee relations, sensitive investigations, policy administration, and employment compliance in India.
  • You have experience coaching managers and supporting organizational effectiveness, succession planning, talent processes, workforce planning, employee engagement, and organizational change.
  • You are able to work fully onsite in Hyderabad during a night shift of either 5:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m.
