Job summary

VALARA Child Development Center in Chennai invites a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join as a founding team member and help build a premium centre from the ground up. The role involves screening, evaluating and treating speech and swallowing disorders, organizing therapy sessions and coordinating with families and educators.

We're looking for a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to become one of our founding team members and help build a premium child development centre from the ground up.

Speech and language therapist responsibilities

As a speech and language therapist your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:

• Screening, evaluating, preventing and diagnosing swallowing, speech and language issues
• Implementing tested and trusted or new and innovative treatments
• Organising and conducting speech therapy sessions
• Assessing the progress of patients and altering therapy protocols as needed
• Administering medically-prescribed therapy programmes and medications
• Assessing, coordinating and administering speech therapy techniques
• Communicating treatment plans to patients and their family members, teachers and other healthcare providers
• Tracking, training and managing speech therapy students and junior staff members
• Conducting research, attending events and growing your professional network
• Educating patients and their families and the broader community about speech problems

As a founding pathologist at VALARA, we strongly prioritize attitude over experience. Ideal therapist needs to be empathetic, organized, and eager to learn.
