Job summary

Bayer AG in India seeks a PCT (Instrumentation) Engineer to manage instrumentation, maintenance and investments ensuring plant operability and compliance. The role focuses on planning, executing PCT projects, and maintaining PCS reliability across DCS/SIS/PLC systems.

You will collaborate with vendors, ensure schedule adherence, maintain technical docs, and drive improvements while following local regulations and company policies in the PCT domain.

Qualifications

• Must hold a B.E. in Instrumentation & Control engineering.
• Experience with PCT instrumentation in plant maintenance and reliability.
• Knowledge of regulatory and company policies related to PCT.

Responsibilities

• Assures PCT performance supports plant objectives (capacity, operability, economy, compliance, quality, safety, environment).
• Plans and executes PCT maintenance and investment projects in the Plant.
• Keeps up-to-date on regulations; ensures local technical and legal compliance with company policies.
• Creates preventive maintenance schedules and adjusts them based on plant data and best practices.
• Identifies, evaluates, and develops PCT modifications and improvements.
• Troubleshoots PCS (DCS/SIS/PLC) problems and updates maintenance plans to minimize PCS failures.
• Creates and maintains Plant technical documentation.
• Interacts with vendors and instrument manufacturers to update instrumentation standards.
• Ensures activities are within schedule and budget.
• Maintains minimum downtime for instrumentation equipment.
• Performs preventive and predictive maintenance tasks; completes related corrective work during shifts.
• Manages interfaces with other disciplines.
• Prepares maintenance activity reports for supervision.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The PCT (Instrumentation) Engineer is responsible for all instrumentation matters regarding plant operability, maintenance / reliability, investments, technology improvements, and technical compliance / integrity.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assures that PCT performance supports plant performance goals related to capacity, operability / availability, economy, compliance, quality, safety, and environment.
• Has responsibility (technical, budget, timelines, compliance) for the planning and execution of PCT maintenance and investment projects in the Plant.
• Has up-to-date knowledge about relevant internal and external regulations; Assures compliance with local technical and legal rules and with Company policies in the field of PCT
• Is responsible for creating preventive maintenance schedules; Reviews and adjusts them based on plant performance, equipment failure history and available best practices.
• Has responsibility for identifying, evaluating, and developing PCT modifications and improvements in the Plant
• Is responsible to troubleshoot PCS (Process control system- DCS/SIS/PLC) problems in the plant, modifies maintenance plans and triggers improvement projects to minimize PCS failures.
• Is responsible for creating and maintaining Plant technical documentation.
• Regular interaction with vendor, instruments manufacturer for updating the instrumentation standard.
• Ensuring all activities done as per schedule & within specific budget
• Responsible for maintaining of minimum down time for equipment’s from instrumentation.
• Performs preventive and predictive maintenance plans to complete tasks per schedule; Performs preventive and predictive maintenance plans to complete tasks per schedule; Completes the related corrective maintenance jobs during shift time; Uses and maintains all tools in properly condition.
• Manage all interfaces with other discipline.
• Prepares maintenance activity reports and submits to supervisor after finishing each activity.

WHO YOU ARE

• Must be B.E. - (Instrumentation & Control) Engineering with minimum 5 to 7 Years of related work Experience in PCT.
• Emerson Delta V DCS experience should be required, Siemens PLC, SIS/ESD, iMCC, SIL, HAZOP, latest types of field, analyzers & panel instrumentation, resources management
• Thorough understanding of PCS concepts / practices and good understanding of maintenance and project management
• Good knowledge of Engineering tools and software - SAP, OneAPM, PM tools, Analytical skill
