Job summary

Tech Mahindra is seeking a Senior PCB Layout Engineer to lead complex multilayer PCB design and verification in Bengaluru. You will own layout, routing, and impedance strategies while coordinating with hardware, mechanical, and fabrication teams across projects.

The role emphasizes high-speed routing, HDL/FPGA considerations, and strict adherence to IPC, EMI/EMC, and DMU guidelines to ensure robust designs and timely releases.

Qualifications

• 5–9 years of PCB design experience.
• Experience with schematic drafting and review.
• Experience with PCB library creation and management.
• Experience with high-density designs and BGA/FPGA.
• Knowledge of IPC standards and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Ability to coordinate with hardware, mechanical, SI/PI, fabrication and assembly teams.

Responsibilities

• Design layout for complex multilayer PCBs with impedance considerations.
• Route high-speed signals, manage differential pairs and length matching.
• Create and manage PCB libraries, symbols and footprints.
• Perform DRC, design reviews and release documentation.
• Coordinate with hardware, mechanical, and fabrication teams.
• Ensure thermal, power distribution and enclosure constraints are met.

PCB Layout Engineer Senior

Experience: 5-9 Years

• Strong knowledge of electronics, PCB design fundamentals and circuit understanding.
• Hands‑on experience in schematic drafting, understanding and review.
• Experience in PCB library creation and management, including symbols, footprints, component/package verification and 3D models.
• Experience in component datasheet interpretation, package selection, alternate components and obsolescence awareness.
• Experience in PCB stack‑up planning, board materials, design constraints and controlled‑impedance requirements.
• Experience in component placement, fanout and routing for complex multilayer PCB designs, considering power distribution and return paths.
• Experience with high‑speed routing, differential pairs, length matching, BGA/FPGA, HDI and high‑density designs.
• Experience with rigid, flex and rigid‑flex PCB designs, including mixed‑signal, high‑power/current/voltage applications.
• Working knowledge of IPC standards, DFM, DFT, DFA, EMI/EMC, SI/PI, thermal considerations and PCB manufacturing processes.
• Experience in DRC, design verification, layout reviews and design release, including Gerber/ODB++, NC Drill and fabrication/assembly documentation.
• Understanding of mechanical integration, including board outline, connector placement, enclosure constraints and 3D clearance.
• Tool Proficiency in Cadence Allegro / Allegro X and OrCAD.
• Ability to independently resolve design issues and coordinate with hardware, mechanical, SI/PI, fabrication and assembly teams.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, documentation and project‑ownership skills, with ability to deliver quality designs within project schedules.
