Job summary

Psiborg Technologies in Uttar Pradesh, Dadri is seeking a PCB Design Engineer with 6 months to 1.5 years of experience. You will design schematics and layouts up to four layers using KiCad and Altium, ensuring signal integrity and DFM throughout the development cycle.

Responsibilities include BOM management, Gerber generation, and coordinating with fabrication vendors during prototyping. Strong teamwork and component selection skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, ECE, or related fields.
• 6 months to 1.5 years of PCB design experience.
• Hands-on with KiCad or Altium Designer preferred.
• Experience in BOM preparation and component selection.

Responsibilities

• Design schematics and PCB layouts (up to 4 layers) using KiCad and/or Altium Designer.
• Translate circuit requirements into manufacturable PCB layouts with signal integrity, EMI/EMC, DFM.
• Perform schematic capture, PCB routing, footprint verification, and library management.
• Conduct DRC and ERC to validate designs before release.
• Select components based on specs, availability, performance, and cost.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs and identify alternate components.
• Generate Gerber files, fabrication drawings, and manufacturing docs.
• Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors during prototyping.
• Support PCB bring-up, debugging, and validation during prototyping/testing.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Firmware, Procurement, and Production teams.
• Maintain design documentation and revision history.

Eligibility:

1. Candidates with 6 months to 1.5 years of experience in PCB Design are encouraged to apply.
2. Diploma/B.E./B.Tech. graduates in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication (ECE), or related disciplines are eligible.
3. Candidates with hands-on experience in KiCad, Altium Designer, schematic capture, PCB layout, and BOM preparation will be preferred.
4. Candidates with relevant academic projects, internships, or experience in Embedded Hardware, IoT, Electronics Product Development, or PCB Design are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design schematics and PCB layouts (up to 4-layer PCBs) using KiCad and/or Altium Designer.
2. Convert circuit requirements into manufacturable PCB layouts while ensuring signal integrity, power distribution, EMI/EMC compliance, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
3. Perform schematic capture, PCB routing, footprint verification, and component library management.
4. Conduct Design Rule Checks (DRC) and Electrical Rule Checks (ERC) to validate PCB designs before release.
5. Select electronic components based on technical specifications, availability, performance, and cost optimization.
6. Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and identify alternate components when required.
7. Generate Gerber files, fabrication drawings, assembly files, and manufacturing documentation.
8. Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors during prototype development and production.
9. Support PCB bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and validation during prototyping and testing.
10. Collaborate with Hardware, Firmware, Procurement, and Production teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
11. Maintain design documentation, revision history, and engineering records.

Required Skills

1. Hands-on experience in KiCad and/or Altium Designer.
2. Strong understanding of schematic capture and multilayer PCB layout (up to 4 layers).
3. Good knowledge of electronic components including ICs, passive components, connectors, sensors, power supplies, and communication modules.
4. Experience in BOM creation, component selection, and alternate part identification.
5. Understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, stack-up, DFM, and PCB fabrication requirements.
6. Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, datasheets, and reference designs.
7. Knowledge of PCB footprint creation, library management, Gerber generation, DRC, and ERC.
8. Good analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience working on IoT, Embedded Systems, or Electronics Product Development projects.
2. Basic understanding of power electronics, RF PCB layout, and signal integrity.
3. Familiarity with IPC standards and PCB design guidelines.
4. Experience with Altium BOM Manager or similar component management tools.
5. Knowledge of prototype validation, PCB testing, and hardware debugging.
