Job summary

SEQUEL is seeking an experienced SAP Payroll specialist to manage end-to-end Indian payroll execution, ensuring accurate master data, timely payroll runs, and off-cycle payments. You will handle payroll controls across locations, align with Finance and auditors, and produce payroll and tax reports.

The role demands 5+ years of SAP Payroll experience, strong data confidentiality, and excellent stakeholder communication. Proficiency in Excel is essential, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Job description

End-to-End Indian Payroll Execution (SAP):

• Maintain and update employee data in the SAP HR module, including master data, payroll inputs.
• Manage pre-payroll activities, including master data validation, attendance and absence verification through
• Run monthly regular payroll and process off-cycle payments accurately and on schedule.
• Manage the Payroll Control Record across locations and payroll areas.
• Coordinate with Finance and auditor on payroll, tax, and compliance-related matters.
• Manage SAP infotypes and ensure payroll-related employee records are accurate and up to date.
• Generate payroll result tables, wage-type reports, and tax reporting statements as required.

Statutory Compliance & Tax Administration:

• Ensure full compliance with Indian labour laws and tax regulations, including guidance on Old and New Tax
• Regimes under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
• Generate statutory reports and coordinate timely monthly remittances for applicable payroll compliance requirements.

• PF, ESI, and Professional Tax: Prepare, validate, and support monthly filings and remittances.
• Tax Deducted at Source (TDS): Execute year-end tax processing, including investment proof validation, tax recalculations, and employee tax reporting support.

Accounting Integration & Reporting:

• Process payroll posting runs to Financial Accounting and resolve General Ledger or symbolic account posting errors.
• Reconcile payroll output with General Ledger accounts and bank payout files to ensure accuracy before disbursement.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Social Work, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Payroll, preferably with Indian payroll processes.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, commitment to data confidentiality, and effective stakeholder communication skills.
