Job summary

Uber Technologies Inc. in Bengaluru seeks a Payroll Specialist to own end-to-end US/Canada payroll processing from a hybrid Bengaluru location.

You will run in-house payroll using Oracle Fusion for core processing and ADP SmartCompliance for tax, garnishments, and payments, ensuring timely cycles and accurate reporting. You will collaborate with global stakeholders, drive process improvements, and support audits while maintaining SLA-driven service levels.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of US and Canada payroll experience in a multinational or complex environment.
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end payroll operations for US/Canada.

Payroll Specialist

Note - Shift Timings: 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM IST/Hybrid

About the Role

• Lead the day-to-day US/Canada payroll process, including terminations and off-cycle processes , Timekeeping controls.
• Ensure timely and accurate end-to-end, on-cycle payroll process
• Confirm required controls are validated and cleared as part of routine payroll processing; raise any exceptions or discrepancies.
• Keep Payroll processing documentation updated (e.g., data collection templates, processing schedule, checklist, SOPs, intranet)
• Handle the employee support ticketing system and ensure SLA's are maintained with world-class customer support
• Work and support the Payroll team on day to day payroll activities.
• Prepare and or assist with specific ad-hoc payroll reports
• Collaborate with the internal stakeholders for payroll inputs clarifications.
• Manage Payroll and Tax reconciliations, Oracle vs ADP smart compliance reports.
• Support various internal and external audits, domestic and international.
• Participate in new system implementations and or improvements related to payroll process and perform user testing

What You'll Do

End-to-End Payroll Execution

• Handle end-to-end in-house payroll processing for the US and Canada regions.
• Execute and oversee payroll operations utilizing Oracle Fusion for core processing and ADP SmartCompliance for tax, garnishments, and agency payments.
• Execute regular, off-cycle, year end and retroactive payroll runs accurately and within established deadlines.
• Ensure the accurate processing of salaries, bonuses, commissions, equity transactions, and deductions.

Process Improvement, Data & Technology

• Act as the system subject matter expert for Oracle Fusion Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and strengthen payroll processes and controls.
• Use payroll, employee, and compensation data to identify trends, exceptions, potential exposures, and opportunities for improvement.
• Explore and apply automation and other technology solutions to improve payroll analysis, compliance, controls, and stakeholder support.

Basic Qualifications

• Overall 4 to 6 years of US and Canada payroll experience within a multinational organization or similarly complex environment.
• Deep hands-on experience handling end-to-end payroll operations for the US and Canada regions.
• Extensive experience processing in-house payroll using Oracle Fusion and adp smartcompliance.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing ADP SmartCompliance for tax filing, garnishments, and compliance.
• Strong technical knowledge of US federal, state, local, and Canadian provincial payroll requirements.
• Willingness and ability to work the expected shift timing of 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM IST.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting payroll implementations, acquisitions, entity changes, or other significant business transformations.
