Job summary

Qualifications

• Responsible for accurate interpretation, validation and reporting of laboratory investigations.
• Ensure compliance with NABL standards and laboratory quality protocols.
• Follow NABL/ISO 15189-compliant laboratory practices.
• Coordinate with laboratory technicians, clinicians and other medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, interpret and authorize pathology and laboratory investigation reports.
• Handle and supervise investigations across:
  • Hematology
  • Clinical Biochemistry
  • Cytology
  • Histopathology
  • Clinical Pathology
• Examine and interpret peripheral blood smears, CBC-related findings and other hematological investigations.
• Perform/review cytology smears and provide accurate cytological interpretation.
• Review histopathology specimens, tissue sections and biopsy reports.
• Ensure proper correlation of laboratory findings with clinical information.
• Review abnormal and critical values and ensure timely communication to clinicians.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of reports before final authorization.
• Follow and maintain NABL/ISO 15189-compliant laboratory practices, documentation and quality procedures.
• Participate in internal quality control, proficiency testing/EQA, audits and corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality indicators, sample handling and reporting procedures.
• Support the laboratory team in maintaining quality standards and improving turnaround time.
• Coordinate with laboratory technicians, clinicians and other medical staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation of patient records and laboratory reports.
