Job summary

Talent Hired-the Job Store in India is seeking an experienced IP professional to lead patent strategy across mechanical and automotive domains. The role focuses on invention disclosure, patent protection, and collaborating with engineers to translate ideas into robust filings.

You will conduct patentability and FTO analyses, draft specifications, respond to examination reports, and support innovation programs. Prior firm or in-house IP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering with 60% marks throughout academics.
• 5-7 years of patent searching, drafting, prosecution, and IP analytics.
• Hands-on experience with patent databases such as Derwent, Orbit, etc.

Responsibilities

• Promote IP awareness and guide engineers on invention disclosure and patent protection
• Conduct ideation workshops and support innovation initiatives
• Perform patentability, Freedom-to-Operate (FTO), invalidation, infringement, and prior-art studies
• Draft and review patent specifications and responses to examination reports
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop and execute IP strategies

Eligibility Criteria

• BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering
• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA throughout academics
• 5-7 years of experience in patent searching, drafting, prosecution, and IP analytics
• Hands-on experience with patent databases such as Derwent, Orbit, etc.
• Strong understanding of automotive technologies, including engines, transmissions, emissions, body systems, interiors, brakes, and suspension
• Prior experience in a law firm or in-house IP function will be preferred
