Job summary

IIT Madras in Chennai invites a patent search professional to join the IP cell. You will participate in invention disclosure meetings, conduct patentability searches, and prepare detailed reports.

You will present findings clearly, perform technology landscape studies, and assist inventors with IP queries from internal stakeholders. Registered Indian Patent Agent and a degree in electrical engineering are preferred, with 0–5 years of relevant patent-search experience.

Qualifications

• Must have strong analytical能力 to interpret search results and support decision-making.
• Hands-on experience with commercial patent databases (Derwent Innovation, Questel Orbit, PatSeer).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
