Job summary

Knack Studios is seeking a Paint & Prep Artist for on-site work in Hyderabad. Roles span Junior to Senior levels with responsibilities including removing unwanted elements, matching lighting and texture, and delivering pixel-perfect paintwork.

Candidates should have 1+ year of experience and a showreel or portfolio. We are a Hyderabad-based post-production facility with 7 years of experience across multiple languages and services including sound, color grading, and VFX.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Remove unwanted elements from footage and CG renders using digital painting techniques.
• Match lighting, texture, and color for seamless integration.
• Analyze shots to determine painting areas and address missing/problematic frames.
• Ensure pixel-perfect paintwork with motion blur and depth consistency.
• Perform quality checks to maintain grain, stability, and jitter-free output.
• Denoise footage, apply grading and color correction, and handle background blending.
• Communicate daily progress to team leads and stakeholders.
• Deliver work in required formats, resolutions, and bit depth per project specs.

Role Overview

We are hiring VFX Paint & Prep Artists at Junior, Mid, and Senior levels. Candidates should have Minimum 1 year of experience, depending on the role. Responsibilities include removing unwanted elements from footage, matching lighting, and texture for seamless integration, and performing digital painting tasks with pixel-perfect accuracy. The role involves quality control, handling complex prep work, and delivering work in specified formats.

Responsibilities

• Remove unwanted elements (e.g., track marks, wires, rigs) from live-action footage or CG renders using digital painting techniques.
• Match lighting, texture, and color of painted areas to surrounding elements for seamless integration.
• Analyse shots to determine required painting areas and address missing or problematic frames.
• Ensure pixel-perfect paintwork, matching motion blur, focus, and defocus across sequences.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure output is jitter-free and maintains grain and consistency.
• Denoise footage, apply grading and color correction, and handle background blending and edge blending.Utilize scan pixels, create new plates if needed, and perform camera depth and 3D projections.
• Communicate with team leads and provide daily progress updates.
• Deliver work in required formats, resolution, and bit depth, adhering to project specifications, and maintaining organized file structures.
