Job summary

Flipkart Group is seeking a Packaging Development executive to set standards, onboard suppliers and optimize SOPs across our seller network, warehouses, and fulfillment channels. The role focuses on supplier development, quality audits, and packaging engineering, ensuring zero-damage transit through ISTA/ASTM tests and cost-efficient, eco-friendly packaging solutions.

Experience includes 1-3 years in packaging quality, vendor management, and material engineering.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree/Diploma in Packaging Technology (IIP preferred) or related fields.
• Experience: 2+ years in packaging quality, vendor management, and material engineering.
• Core competencies: corrugated specs (BF/GSM/ECT), ISTA/ASTM testing, vendor auditing, cost engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and monitor packaging standards across seller ecosystems; onboard new suppliers and perform quality audits.
• Design packaging solutions for high-risk categories (liquids, fragile items, metals, sharp edges) ensuring safe transit.
• Establish technical specs (ply, BF, GSM, cushioning, sealing/taping) and run drop/vibration tests.
• Create and enforce standardized packaging SOPs for sellers, vendors, and warehouses.
• Drive cost reduction and eco-friendly packaging initiatives; conduct RCA on damage reports.

Role Summary

We are looking for a Packaging Development & Quality Manager to set packaging standards, onboard vendors, and optimize operational SOPs across our seller network, warehouses, and fulfillment channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Supplier Development & Quality: Define, implement, and monitor packaging standards across seller ecosystems; lead new supplier onboarding and quality audits.
• Product-Specific Guidelines: Design packaging solutions for high-risk categories, including liquids, fragile/ceramics, metals, sharp-edged, heavy-weight, and irregular products.
• Packaging Engineering: Establish technical specs (ply, BF, GSM, cushioning, sealing/taping) and run drop/vibration transit tests to ensure zero-damage transit.
• SOP Standardization: Create and enforce standardized packaging SOPs for sellers, vendors, and warehouse teams.
• Innovation & Cost Optimization: Drive cost reduction, material optimization, and eco-friendly packaging initiatives while conducting root-cause analysis (RCA) on damage reports.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: Degree/Diploma in Packaging Technology (IIP preferred), Mechanical Engineering, or Material Science.
