Himalaya Wellness is seeking a Senior Manager- Packaging Development in Bengaluru to lead packaging formats and cross-functional programs with Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Procurement. Qualifications

• Postgraduate in Science or Technology with 12-16 years in Packaging Development.
• Experience in Beauty-Personal Care or FMCG, preferably in global organizations.
• Strong communication, analytical and coordination skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop packaging formats for the assigned categories.
• Lead and motivate the team and provide technical direction to key cross-functional partners including Marketing, Sales, Product development, Supply chain and Procurement.
• Lead the Innovation and Savings Agenda for assigned categories.
• Responsible for supplier innovation and sourcing strategies for alternative materials to achieve global standards.
• Enhance customer focus by incorporating the customer needs into packaging development plans.
• Responsible for quality & compliance oversight in line with R&D expectations and project needs. Embed core processes including cost efficiency, adoption of new technology, risk management into packaging strategy
• Lead and manage capacity expansion projects, packing line installation, Automation, OEE improvement projects.
• Lead sustainability projects to lower carbon footprint, optimize cost.
• Manage strategic, third-party relationships/ventures.
• Address cross functional activities that include purchase, Legal, design agency, marketing team, legal, regulatory & operations team for quick & accurate packaging artwork development, execution and timely launch.
• Motivate, mentor and develop team members on technical, functional and behavioral aspects.

Desired profile

• Strong can-do attitude, business mindset, sense of urgency, risk taking approach and influencing skills
• Possess a sound understanding of different packaging materials and formats.
• Have a good understanding of cost structures for different packaging materials and systems and a track record of driving cost saving initiatives for achieving desired cost targets.
• Be aware of the specific requirements to service different channels like E-commerce. Modern trade and General trade.
• In-depth understanding of the trends and implications of actions by regulators, customers, and peer companies
• Possesses strong communication, analytical and coordination skills.

Qualifications

Postgraduate in Science or Technology with about 12-16 years of experience in Packaging Development function in Beauty-Personal care, FMCG domain preferably in a global organization. Should have worked in Packaging Development particularly in Consumer Products space.
