Job summary

Bounteous in Hyderabad, India, seeks a Mid-Level OSP Engineer (5-8 years) to design and engineer fiber networks for underground and aerial deployments, using AutoCAD and GIS-based tools.

You will produce construction-ready drawings, perform network analysis, support planning teams, and coordinate with municipalities and telecom providers to obtain permits.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of OSP design, drafting or telecom network engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS/QGIS, fiber network design.

• Experience reading engineering drawings, blueprints and permit drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cost-effective OSP fiber network solutions for underground and aerial deployments.
• Create and update engineering drawings, route designs, and construction docs using AutoCAD and GIS tools.
• Perform network analysis, redlining, scoping and quality reviews of fiber designs.
• Design infrastructure components including conduits, fiber cables, manholes, cabinets and poles.
• Convert field survey data and requirements into construction-ready designs.
• Work with customer-specific tools such as AutoCAD, Waldo, ARAMIS, IQGeo, OCALC.
• Support planning and construction teams with engineering analysis and recommendations.
• Coordinate with municipalities, utility companies and telecom providers for records and permits.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, permit requirements and customer specs.
• Maintain quality, accuracy and timely delivery of designs.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented OSP (Outside Plant) Engineer with 48 years of experience in fiber network design and engineering. The role involves designing, drafting, analyzing, and maintaining fiber optic network layouts for underground and aerial deployments using industry-standard tools and customer-specific platforms.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in OSP design, fiber planning, AutoCAD, GIS applications, and telecom infrastructure, with the ability to produce accurate engineering drawings and construction-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop cost-effective OSP fiber network solutions for underground and aerial deployments.
• Create and update engineering drawings, route designs, and construction documentation using AutoCAD and GIS-based tools.
• Perform network analysis, redlining, scoping, and quality reviews of fiber designs.
• Design infrastructure components including Conduits, Fiber cables, Manholes and handholes, Cabinets, Splice closures, Poles and aerial structures
• Convert field survey data and engineering requirements into construction-ready designs.
• Work with customer-specific tools such as AUTOCAD, Waldo, ARAMIS, IQGeo, OCALC, and other design platforms.
• Support planning and construction teams with engineering analysis and recommendations.
• Coordinate with municipalities, utility companies, telecom providers, and construction teams to obtain necessary records and permits.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, permit requirements, and customer specifications.
• Maintain quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of engineering designs.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–8 years of experience in OSP design, drafting, fiber planning, or telecom network engineering.
• Strong proficiency in: AutoCAD, GIS/QGIS, Fiber network design, OSP engineering principles
• Good understanding of: Underground and aerial fiber deployments, Conduit and cable routing, Utility mapping and right-of-way requirements, Fiber construction practices.
• Experience reading and interpreting: Engineering drawings, Blueprints, Conduit plans, Permit drawings, Construction prints
• Familiarity with local permitting processes, easements, encroachment permits, and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Telecommunications, GIS, or a related field.
• Experience with GPON networks.
• Knowledge of Corning FlexNAP products.
• Hands-on experience with Waldo, ARAMIS, IQGeo, and OCALC.
• Advanced AutoCAD and QGIS experience.
• Exposure to fiber network quality assurance and design validation.
