Job summary

Novactech, Chennai, is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA with 6–8 years of hands-on work in Finacle database management. The role covers installation, configuration, performance optimization, security, backups, and patching to ensure robust, reliable database operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle knowledge, experience with Finacle systems, and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex database issues while keeping documentation and best practices up to date.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Working knowledge of Finacle Core Banking Systems and its database structure is highly desirable.
• Proven experience administering large and complex Oracle databases.
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle architecture, administration tools, and utilities (SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, OEM).

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the Finacle database on the Oracle platform, including installation, configuration, performance optimization, security administration, backup and recovery, and patching.
• Perform regular health checks and identify potential performance bottlenecks.
• Implement strategies to optimize database performance and ensure responsiveness to user queries.
• Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive financial data.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data availability.
• Apply Oracle database patches and upgrades in a timely and controlled manner.
• Work closely with Finacle application teams to troubleshoot database-related issues and ensure smooth system operation.
• Provide technical support to business users on database-related inquiries.
• Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest Oracle technologies and Finacle database best practices.
